The Bull Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

Just spent 2 nights at the bull in Peterborough. We chose this hotel due to the location as we had theatre tickets for the Sat evening and distance from hotel was around a 5 / 7 min walk. Warmly greeted on arrival, check in was flawless and no issues. We were in room 181 which was a deluxe twin room, very spacious with everything you need. As the hotel is a listed building our bathroom layout had a large central tiled post that kind of separated the sink area from the shower area, but be aware its there as soon as you open the door. If using the bathroom at night put the light on . We ate in the bar on the two evenings , as on Fri night the restaurant itself was empty and the bar area had a warmer atmosphere. Plenty of drinks to choose from, and menu had plenty of choice. On the two evenings our food was served by kaylee ( kayleigh ) apologies if spelt incorrectly. Could not fault the young lassie, her service was exceptional and nothing was to much trouble. Thank you for looking after us ladies on our theatre trip Breakfast We had breakfast on both days as this was included in out package. Plenty of options available, hot food on counter that does get plated up for you. Could have done with being slightly Warner ( on both days ) as luke warm at best. Sat morning was greeted by waitress and tea was brought over, had to ask for toast as wasn't offered on 1st day. And although she was pleasant enough, a smile would have been a nice addition 2nd day breakfast service much better Lovely old building, worth a visit There is no lift in the building due to age please bear this in mind if you are planning a visit And as this is a best western hotel ( at the time of our booking Oct 24 ) we booked through best western Web site, this was much cheaper than booking through the bulls own website .

A contrast of excellent and poor.. we stayed at the hotel after a wedding, where the wedding breakfast was at the hotel. What was excellent was the food, the service, the staff and cleanliness.. what was poor was the room. The bar and function rooms within the hotel are of high quality and look superb, sadly the room we had smelt like someone had died in it (the smell possibly coming from the standing water from the flat room outside the window that couldn’t be shut as the room was hotter than mercury) the bed was uncomfortable and the furniture and decor was dated the TV was probably easier to view from the toilet than the bed (actually this is true as I tried it out) All in all brilliant venue, great location just needs air con and the rooms bringing up to the 21st century. Also steer clear of the £2.50 bags of crisps!

On a rainy August Saturday morning myself and some friends entered the impressive looking bull hotel to take shelter and have breakfast but unfortunately the experience we had was anything but impressive. It was obvious immediately that the place was hopelessly short staffed as there was just one young lady behind the bar trying to serve a lot of customers. We ordered four large breakfasts, some coffees and a pint of Oakham JHB which had to be changed immediately as it resembled sarsons vinegar. The food took a long time to arrive and when it did it was not a pretty sight and it was clearly obvious that it was not cooked by a trained chef. The food was dumped on the plates in a haphazard manner and the meat and black pudding were heavily cremated and didn’t taste good while the fried eggs had bullet hard yolks. As we began to tuck in one of us realised they had no sausages, I had no tomatoes and yet someone else had four tomatoes! It was a shambolic experience from start to finish and an expensive one at that with the total bill around £75. It was probably worth about £7.50. Avoid this place at all costs.

Charming Old Worldie Hotel near the shopping centre and a few minutes walk from the train station. Large comfortable room with a bath and powerful shower above the bath. Coffee and Tea facilities (hidden away in the cupboard) with the added touch of some single packs of biscuits. Unfortunately, the television didn’t work but as we was only staying one evening it didn’t bother us. The view from the room was a concrete wall above the carpark. Saying that, we didn’t experience any noise disturbances. We hadn’t opted for breakfast but it would have been nice to have been offered the chance to upgrade when we booked in or a least have the details/ menu in our room to view. Bag storage facilities are available which we took advantage of as we arrived before check in.

It's a well decked out hotel. Beautiful paintings of King William III & Mary in the lobby. 99% of staff fantastic. Restaurant & breakfast food top notch. Lovely set out bar area with 3x large screen TV's

Executive room booked £110.00 with breakfast for 2 people On arrival told card only no mention of this when booking room 313 large room very tired furniture very strange desk in room no teabags in tray fridge but no complimentary bt water cracked sink no extraction fan in bathroom no literature of any kind about the hotel or things to do in the area Breakfast food seemed of good quality but ruined by being overcooked bacon burnt hash browns hard eggs hard Fir £110.00 it was ok but no way could you have called it an executive stay I would expect better from this hotel

Excellent stay, great food, great service. Room pleasant, might need aircon for warmer days. Would recommend. Excellent value for money.
