Rural hospitality Castel d'arno ... we spent 5 days in the first week of September in this farmhouse that was nothing short of wonderful .. we rented it all for us .. we were 4 couples with children and dogs .. it seemed like we had a castle at our complete disposal also because there is space for more than 30 people to sleep .. well-furnished rooms .. with bathroom and kitchen for each apartment .. one more beautiful than the other .. also there was another kitchen and dining room where we could cook and eat all together .. outside there is a splendid swimming pool .. with some games for the little ones .. with the fireplace where we cooked some delicious meat purchased from the butcher that SERGIO the owner of the farmhouse recommended to us .. very helpful .. and friendly .. we felt like we were at home .. what can I say .. we highly recommend it and we will definitely return also to see SERGIO again !!!!

Sergio's Castel was an excellent choice for us to celebrate my parents-in-law's 50th wedding anniversary. We were 3 families (17 people) altogether, including 9 kids aged 23 to 7. We stayed for 2 weeks and many times were happy to not go anywhere but to just enjoy the breathtaking views, the great room for dining or the pool and terraced lawn for evening barbecues. I don't think we could have found anything better, and family members living in the area who came to visit, felt us blessed. Sergio is a great host: friendly, accommodating, and very helpful (he led the way to a local mechanic who fixed a minor problem on my Chrysler Voyager). We would stay again and highly recommend the place if you enjoy a friendly and informal atmosphere, with plenty of separate living areas. The biggest apartment is on the 3rd floor (2nd for Americans), so I wouldn't recommend it for those unable to cope with 2 flights of stairs. However, the great room on the 3rd floor is where you get the best views, and we needed a to burn some calories after those delicious bbqs (supplied for by a great local butcher...). ;) Divertiti, The Coppers, France

English: A week's holiday in this truly surprising rural accommodation, slightly secluded but with all the services available a few hundred metres away. We stayed in the "all'orto" apartment which consists of a kitchen, entrance, bedroom and bathroom. The rooms were obviously in old farmhouse style and equipped with everything needed for the stay, the outside was large and clean both in the furnishings and in the garden and there were numerous games for children, two fireplaces and a swimming pool with deckchairs. The internal common areas of the house also included a room just for children with games and a television for rainy days. The car park (inside the farmhouse property) was however separate from the house leaving peace and security (in the case of children) to be able to enjoy the view. We found the owner (Sergio) to be an extremely courteous person and available to resolve any of our requests; he even accompanied us to a local butcher for the best meat. (which I recommend given the particularity of the area). Overall an absolutely recommended accommodation also for the position which allows day trips to nearby cities.

Only stayed for 2 nights as part of our friends' wedding celebrations. Wonderful views, beautiful rustic features but modern also, lovely comfy rooms with bags of charm. Really great pool and some play equipment for kids, very well stocked indoor play room also. Well positioned for trips to Perugia or Asissi. Sergio the owner is very enthusiastic and helpful. Hoping to travel to the region again and would certainly consider staying here again.

The location is suggestive to say the least. The rooms are located inside the ancient castle which, if you look closely, has a truly fascinating history. The site itself has very ancient origins. A pope slept there, it was the lair of one of the most fearsome bandits, a defensive stronghold of the local inhabitants and, like any good castle that respects itself, there is also a ghost story that makes the place more fascinating. Each room is different and peculiar but what they have in common are the large, very comfortable spaces and the immersion in history. The swimming pool then, needless to say, was a great success for adults and children. The enchanting view overlooks the valley that the castle defended in the past centuries. The large kitchen and the various rooms for meals are very comfortable: there is really everything you need and even more both in terms of appliances and dishes even for a group of 30 people like we were!

Castel d Arno was an amazing place to have our dream weeding! Situated on top of a hill over looking the Umbria valley with breathtaking views, Castel D Arno is an incredible building full of rustic Italian charm.. from inside to outside this place is magnificent. The welcome, support and kindness we received from Sergio and his beautiful wife Frederica has made our stay in castel d arno even more special and both of them helped us to realise the wedding of our dreams...and we are so proud to count them today as our friends. All our guests have been very impressed with castel d Arno and its owners and we all brought back home incredible memories. For many of us it has been the best holiday ever!
