Toxotis Hotel

I am not a person that typically complains, but after reading the amazing reviews from there I was in shock. For one, this hotel is NOT in protarus, it is in pernera which takes 40-50 minutes to walk - on windy dirt track roads which felt very unsafe. However, there is a bus directly opposite (2 euros each way individually) or a taxi but this is approx 10 euro each way. The beach this hotel is near, is more like a cove, not your typical beach with access to restaurants etc, its very small and we were very dissapointed. Where do I begin, the hotel lobby roof is actually leaking directly next to the accessible ramp for prams/wheelchairs- which I have to say how on earth this has passed any regulations is beyond me, this is exceptionally steep and unsafe. The lift is also exceptionally small, and there is only one. Our room, the photos online do this justice. It is absolutely tiny, with no storage whatsoever, one small wardrobe with no drawer in the whole room, with about 5 coat hangers. The shower leaks after every use and floods the bathroom needing 2-3 towels to clean this up, with a small child this is just dangerous. The toilet seat was incorrect for the toilet, the sink basin was poorly put in and just looked bodged, the height of the ceiling is exceptionally low. The standards of this hotel are by no means a 3* more like a 2 at a push, as the whole room as mentioned looked bodged. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and had springs poking through, my 2 year old daughter was in a bed with a shelf directly at eye level which had to be covered by a towel so she did not cut her eye or head open, in the end her bed was so uncomfortable she slept with me and my husband in all honesty ours were not much better. The air con in the room has given me and my daughter a very nasty chest infection, and our room didn't have a table on the balcony either. It was all very basic and below average - I did ask for a table and the staff did bring a table from round the pool. Despite all of this we made the best out of it because we were on our holidays, and all in all I didn't want to complain and get people in trouble. The food was your usual all inclusive, I didn't expect much as I think they are all pretty much the same everywhere you go. So I really don't have much to say about this, just your basic ok all inclusive foods. The following day, the pool was that unclean it was actually closed, in 37 degree heat. Luckily this was only for half the day, but the pool that became open still looked exactly the same as when it was closed. You physically were unable to see through the water? If someone was under the water at the side of you, you'd never have known. There is actually an additional pool with slides, but to be honest the slides were all yellow and looked dirty. I’m a little surprised so many of the comments are as good as they are for this hotel! There were lots of good things about our hotel, and some bits that weren’t so awesome. Firstly .. The staff are all absolutely lovely. I only needed to speak to reception once or twice, and they were always lovely and really helpful! The staff in the restaurant are really attentive and remembered my son’s choice of drink which I thought was really nice. The bar staff by the pool work so hard in such crazy heat during the peak periods! We really enjoyed being invited for dinner by the pool, that was a nice experience and a nice break from the all inclusive. The food was nice, but there isn’t a huge variety. There was a veggie, fish, meat and Childs option each night with salad so there was always something but it was all quite oily, and tasted quite samey. Lunch was by far our most preferred meal. It was a shame the snack bar is only open from 3.30pm - 5pm, the snack bar food was actually far nicer than the buffet restaurant food in our opinion (although we only went once or twice!). We were surprised it was only open for 90 mins a day, in other similar hotels we’ve stayed at, the snack bar is available for much longer during the day so you don’t have to really move away from the pool too much to have a snack, especially when it’s so hot! Breakfast is served 7am - 10am, lunch is 1pm - 3pm & then the snack bar is 3.30-5pm. I think dinner started at about half 6 until 9ish but after 7.30pm, most people seemed to have eaten so the atmosphere was a bit lacking, as was the food! None of us really enjoyed the spirits, they don’t taste very nice and soda water is used rather than lemonade which doesn’t taste great! The beer is nice but very gassy. The rooms really are not suitable for more than 2 people. My mum came with my partner and I, and my 10 year old, so thankfully my son was able to sleep in her room as there simply isn’t adequate space for 3 suitcases + 3 humans in the rooms! There is no storage, at all, no drawers or space to put your cases out of the way, & only a handful of hangers which doesn’t work great if you wear long maxi dresses as the hanging space isn’t floor length - think more shirt length hanging space. It became really quite frustrating within a few days not being able to just move around the room. The beds are incredibly uncomfortable, it felt like we didn’t have a mattress on our bed frames, which isn’t consistent across all of the rooms as my mums was really comfy so I think that is a game of luck. The fridge in the room is great and kept our stuff nice and cold. It’s a good size for 2 big bottles of water & 4-5 cans of coke! The bathroom was quite cramped and it got incredibly hot after showers, the floors didn’t flood (think some people are being dramatic!) but they do get very wet from the spray in the shower and my son did fall one evening but he’s 10 so bounced back up, I’d be cautious for anyone who is less stable on their f

Just had a lovely two weeks at this hotel. Hotel is lovely, centrally located, minutes away from bars, restaurants and shops and 5 minutes walk to the beach. The hotel, rooms are lovely and spacious, fridge and a safe.. Very friendly staff Demetris was lovely always happy to help. The bar staff, catering staff and lifeguards around the pool are very friendly. The pool is lovely and clean, plenty sunbeds and umbrellas, the kids pool has slides. Outside bar area is lovely and serves snacks and drinks throughout the day. Entertainment is good, sax player, singers, violinist. The food one word WOW, so much choice, even a children's,section of food,amazing cakes, full English breakfast every morning,cereal, fruit and fresh pancakes. Thank you so much to all the staff for a lovely holiday. Will definitely be coming back to stay.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel! It’s a 3 star hotel and we found a very good deal, we were not expensive it to be so nice. The staff is amazing, all very kind and helpful, especially the restaurant and bar. We got to the hotel late and the person at reception gave us a sandwich, which was better than not (which happened to me in a couple of trips to the balearics recently). The room was clean, with a nice pool view. The rooms and especially the bathroom do need updating, and more shelves/ hangers. There’s no hairdryer, but i read that before in other reviews, so i brought one. There’s also no beach towels, don’t forget to bring one or the shop down the road sells them for around 7€. The room was cleaned daily and towels changed. I don’t get why people are saying they flooded the bathroom, I have very long hair and i washed it everyday with just a few splashes. The food was great, it’s not a massive buffet, but we always enjoyed what was on offer. It was all very tasty and well seasoned. The fruit was delicious. The bar is really nice, very nicely decorated. The cocktails are okay, there’s plenty of choice. We had our water bottles and the staff very kindly refilled it for us throughout the day, either at the pool bar or the restaurant. Nice touch for inviting your guests for a poolside dinner on their last night. The pool are was nice and clean, with plenty of chairs. Luckily we are early risers and the first ones in the water, but the chairs do get taken pretty early by people that don’t come to the pool until 11am or later, the hotel (or hotels in general) should do something about it. Same about the numerous amount of adults playing in the water with balls, it’s not very relaxing to have to worry about not being hit in the face by a volleyball all morning. The playlist was very repetitive. We really liked the aqua zumba for a bit of fun. The male lifeguard was very nice, always interacting with the guests. I am not a very big fan of hotel entertainment In general, this one had a few days where the singers were good. The location is excellent, in a not very busy area, as i am not a fan of the aya napa vibes. There’s some bars and pubs with live music. There’s some restaurants a few minutes walk from the hotel (greek, mexican etc). The beach is beautiful, crystal clear water with some pebble when you get in but then it’s sand. We really liked the shop/supermarket down the road near the pub on the way to the beach, lots of choices of souvenirs, drinks, snacks, etc and very good prices. The hotel needs some improvements, it could easily become a 4 star hotel,and in general we had a great time and would most definitely go back! We stayed there for almost a week with friends. We are from Poland so we are quite demanding tourists some says Food, music, drinks, service - taking these into account we agreed to give the highest note and we like making friends and have fun of course, and the 'orchestra man' - Demetris - arranged it all for us - big thanks if You read it. And zumba classes with two wonderful girls from Poland - absolutely fantastic. It was quite a short staying but we miss You all ❤️ the atmosphere You all make will stay with us for long.
