Guest UserIt is about 10km away from the town, but there is no particular inconvenience in shopping. A cute cat welcomed me. I felt a little cold because the heating in the room was out of order.

Beachfront resort but I only got a skylight. Even the bathroom had a better view. The room had 2 beds but linens were removed for one since I was a solo traveler and only 1 towel was provided. No shoes policy helped keep the house clean. That is very good. I didn’t use the kitchen much except to make tea but seems like it is in good condition. Dishwashing liquid however was in a glass jar instead of pump. It’s strange cos you end up using too much for a small spoon and the jar is very slippery. Bathrooms were clean. Breakfast was excellent! Hot food along with homemade breads. It was the best breakfast I had in my 2 weeks in Iceland. Location is an hour drive from Egilsstaðir via some mountain pass, gravel roads and along the coast road. The views are breathtaking. But it’s a small town and if you don’t intend to hike around the area then it might not be worth spending so much time getting to and fro your accommodation.

narcissousThe roundabout route passes through Egilsstadir, the hotel is three kilometers from the town and it is very convenient to drive by car. This is a homestay, the whole house has 6 rooms and contains a separate bathroom, kitchen and dining room. Check-in is self-service, the key box password at the door will be sent to you in advance and the room number will be specified. The hotel is clean and tidy, the house is of the right size, the two people are not crowded, the tableware is complete, and the restaurant is also very large. On the road around the island, it is recommended to stay.

Strategic location beside petrol station and bonus supermarket. Able to view aurora during clear weather with wake up call from hotel. Good breakfast. Advisable to book with breakfast as there’s nothing around in the morning.

Centrally located close to domestic airport, gas station and supermarket. Hotel appears to be converted from an old building but is nicely maintained with a charming lobby. Room size is bigger than other Iceland hotels. Shower is only separated from toilet by a shower curtain, so bathroom would get a bit wet but not a big issue. Both dinner and breakfast are good. Better reserve for dinner as it gets busy. O sure washing machine is handy, although may need to wait a bit as there is only one machine. Staff are generally helpful. Overall a pleasant stay.

The reception staff were very enthusiastic and waited for us to check in. The room facing the cruise terminal was very beautiful. There was also a beautiful waterfall nearby. The indoor environment was clean. We will stay here again next time.

Behind the blue church, there are cool loft beds, but the room is on the third floor and there is no elevator.
The room space is OK, there is no wardrobe for hanging clothes, only a few hangers, and the mirror in the toilet is not very friendly to the short Asians (like me)
Because it is off-season, the whole town is super quiet and there are not many choices for eating. In addition, the owner of this hotel has several buildings in this town, don't go wrong

Wasn't expecting much but ended up so pleasantly surprised! My elderly parents and I absolutely loved our stay here! One of the best places we stayed in Iceland this trip. The Guesthouse manager (matnus? Sorry I'm not sure how his name is spelt!) was kind enough to help us arrange a last minute change of room as we changed our minds and wanted to upgrade to a bigger room. We stayed at the one bedroom apartment and everything was lovely. Squeaky clean, even for a clean freak like me. The place was well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. I noticed there is a thick layer of cushion over the sofa bed so this was the most comfortable sofa bed I've ever slept on. My parents also said the double bed was very very comfortable. Highly highly recommend this Guesthouse!
