Well cared for, exceptionally clean and great value for money. This budget motel was surprisingly good with friendly staff and great amenities. A good low cost alternative to pricier accommodation over the border when visiting Canberra but just a few minute’s drive away.

This used to be a Best Western and was quite good - no longer.. Restaurant used to offer breakfast - no longer. I sat on the room couch (which looked like something retrieved from the tip, having flaking imitation leather which stuck to my trousers and some transferred onto anything else I sat on). No microwave, no cutlery other than a teaspoon, 2 mugs, one wine glass. Then a permanently open window in the ensuite and quite a small shower stall. It's a real pity as this used to be my preferred business overnight stay motel in the region and I'm hopeful that another will fill the gap left.

The rooms a your typical country pub style. The beds are comfy the rooms are large. Shared bathrooms though so make sure you remember your room key! When I was there a karaoke and birthday function was on which made even the top rooms quite noisy. But it was ok. Mainly felt the bass which put me to sleep. It can be tricky getting into the hotel at stages as they lock the doors, sometimes have to wave at people to get in.

Stayed in Twin Cabin #9 (3 people) to use our NSW Stay coupons. Canberra hotels don't take it. Not a great idea. - Clean and tidy - Good air-con - Good beds, very poor pillows - Overpriced for what it is (I suspect the coupons played a role here) - Noisy from the main road - Broken (unbearably noisy) fan in the bathroom - Not working porch light - Quite useless lighting - modern-looking bedside lamps way too bright and uncovered bulbs - ”Free'” BBQ wants a 1$ coin every three minutes or so. Go to the pub 200m away. - Automatic check-in system makes you to wait until 2pm to get in, even when you arrived not that early, at 1:35pm. I called them and they made me to wait for an SMS code to collect the keys while no-one was around and the cabin was ready.

The room was fresh and clean with everything needed for a relaxing stay. Staff member was friendly and accommodating ensuring that I had everything I needed including extra milk, coffee, and tea. As an aged traveller the ground floor room was easily accessible. The bed was comfortable and the air-conditioning was easily operated for comfort. Cost of stay was reasonable. I would recommend a stay here. Even though there is no restaurant attached everything is supplied to enable heating and serving of food. The area is very quiet with little or no traffic noise

This is a hotel that I definitely wanted to use again. The location is very convenient. The room was clean and comfortable. I felt that the staff was well educated.

Absolutely fine for a quick overnight stay. Good location near the train station, pub across the street. A large Woolworths is nearby in case you need supplies. Check I was done via electronic panel next to the front entrance. The reception was closed so cannot comment on the staff. Room it's self was worn but perfectly fine. Although the floor creaked loudly. Kettle with tea, coffee and hot chocolate supplied. Along with some biscuits. Rooms on the upper floor had patio furniture out front of the rooms. The bathroom though had some dirt in the shower floor and tiles. A large crack running down the wall reflection of the age of the motel. Plenty of very hot water though with good water pressure. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash supplied. Above the sink there were 3 plastic bottles which I could only read one of labels so had no idea what 2 of them contained. They also had some weird sort of lids /pumps that made them difficult to open. Received a good nightly rate of just under $100 which was very good especially as it was a long weekend. All in all a perfectly adequate little motel good for a night or two while on a trip but wouldn't recommend as a base for an extended stay. Pets unfortunately are not allowed .

If you like looking at yourself in the mirror, this motel is for you. Apparently lots of mirrors are a decoration feature at this motel - there were heaps of them in the room I stayed at last year and plenty of them in this last room. That bit of weirdness aside, this is a great place to stay. Friendly and very helpful staff, really clean room with all the necessities, and an excellent breakfast included in the price. Good stuff. The only other things I'd mention is that the place could do with some maintenance (a tap was broken in the last room, and a drawer fell off its runner in this one), and the air conditioners are rather dated. They work very well - no complaints there - but they're rather old-fashioned. Overall, though, I have no hesitation in recommending the Grand Manor Motor Inn. Unless you have a problem with mirrors.

Excellent
This really is the best kept secret hotel around Canberra. Fully refurbished, the interior is as good as any of the hotels close by that charge triple the price (and I’ve stayed in a lot of them). The staff are lovely there’s free barista, coffee and muffins etc in the reception area and it’s centrally located to any part of Canberra. Even though it looks like it’s on a busy circle, the rooms were so quiet. I didn’t even know I was near traffic. Full price point And quality in this star rating hotel. I don’t think you will find a better room in the ACT.
GGuest UserOne of the better motels we've stayed in. We had a ground floor queen room which was absolutely spotless, well appointed and had with a very comfortable bed. Everything worked and our room was made up daily. Originally, we were looking at other motels in Canberra itself but decided on Hamilton's based on price, reviews and proximity to the city. Other motels were more expensive and some were even charging overnight parking. Though this motel is on a main road we didn't hear the traffic at night. Hamilton's would be our first choice when visiting Canberra region again.
GGuest UserOne of the worst cases of theft, bullying, abuse and intimidation that I have ever experienced as a hotel guest. And I travel often (and many motels would give me glowing testimonials). The owners effectively stole 900 dollars from me by accepting my 8 night reservation, then bullying me out as soon as they saw my face. I only stayed for 2 nights. They never offered a refund or apologized for their hateful, condescending speech and unprofessional conduct/bullying. My crime? Apparently I drove a little too fast out of the car park (yup - seriously - they threatened to kick me out because of this) and I complained about prolonged noise by gossiping staff. When I was exhausted from work and needed to rest, they knocked on my door, and physically intimidated me, speaking to me like a child and criminal (not like an adult and long-term customer). Some of the abhorrent things that they said to my face: ”You think that your 1200 dollars matters? We are fully booked out for this weekend. I gave you a discount for that room! (by the way, at 150 per night, there was no microwave and I didn't sleep well on the too-soft mattresses and pillows, so not good value anyway)” ”This is a motel. People will make noise. If other guests want to talk, they are allowed to! (I was referring to prolonged noise - and many good motels consider this a valid concern).” After they had intimidated me, the female owner said, tauntingly, ”Do I need to call someone for you?” Hey owners - if my 1200 dollars isn't worth anything to you because you are fully booked out all the time, why don't you give me my money back? Many hotels consider me an outstanding guest - I am quiet, mind my own business and am financially sound. Like I countered to them: ”Have I done *****? No. Have I done alcohol? No. Have I painted the room? No.” They threatened to kick me out because they are domineering, controlling personalities who don't like it when clients have a point and defend themselves. I strongly advise against pretty women staying here - and don't book a week-long stay here, because they'll just make up an imaginary crime, bully you into leaving and not give a refund. The behaviour of the owner makes me even more disgusted and ashamed of this country. Bullying and abuse is not right.
Crestview is more suited to workers from outside the area, and there were plenty of them during our weeklong stay. Only a handful of travelers like us. The rooms have the bare minimum so if you want to put something on a hook in say the bathroom or bedroom, or even hang something up in the closet, I suggest you bring your own, even over the door hooks, or a mat at the door to wipe the bottom of your shoes clean. There are no bedside tables, so you have to improvise, maybe a laptop for a tabletop or just put everything on the floor. Flourescent lighting, esp in the 2nd room is annoying as its so bright in every room. Owners could save more if that was changed to something like LED or just a side table light in each room, (lounge had one but it was wobbly, and we didn't dare risk using it). The parks clothesline just outside the laundry was broken. We were lucky to be in cabin 66, (Oct 2023), as we had one right next to us, but I think everyone else missed it as it is tucked away. Zero issues with maintenance and cleaner who reported our sliding door to second bedroom was jammed upon our arrival. Maintenance man came when he said he would, (he was working on a plumbing job, and we were seen to next). Very much appreciated. Our unit was very clean and tidy. The cleaners quietly go around their business in the morning. Pity they have such old equipment to work with. It stands out. Can't be missed. The cart/s in particular that they use are so outdated and, in my view, an OH&S issue if not already. They cleaners don't even have a uniform. Uniforms and new equipment are good for morale and work efficiency and can be written off as deductibles, so the owner/s aren't really out of pocket. It looks better for guests as well. This is another reason why I only gave Crestview 3 stars
