It's not in the center of Paris. The subway is close, but you have to walk quite a bit to get to the center. The amenities were just okay. But the staff were friendly.

On quiet street so taxi pickup and drop off easy and near to small supermarket, bank and restaurants of various types. It is half an hour from central paris but i chose to stay here because I was near to who I was visiting.
My main bug bare is that the lift is painfully slow to come, to close doors, to go down. I am patient but this tested it. First time taxi drivers arrived before I could get downstairs!
Breakfast for an extra €12 is continental.
My room, the sink was a bit blocked so water took ages to drain. You would have to leave it and go but that is what I was usually doing so I didnt complain.
Only one door on the shower so first day floor completely flooded until I asked for more towel mats.
Its like a small local very old Travelodge but OK. Dingey and dark but if you are out most of the time then it doesnt matter. I would stay here again at a push. The lift just really got on my last nerve.

Nice hotel. Room a little small and equipped with a fan. Decent bathroom. Elevator because there are five floors. Good breakfast. Listening staff. Lots of small restaurants around and two metro stations within

Great little hotel close to transit options. Old, small and shabby room but clean and affordable. Hotel is 1 star at best but fine for a short stay and provides privacy and your own bathroom in expensive Paris. I agree with ither reviews about the staff - one staff member definitely more friendly and helpful than the other one I talked to at the front desk. Didn't eat there. Close to busses and metro, quiet neighborhood. Wouldn't stay there again as the bathroom door in my room (#305) was rotten and should be replaced as the shower soaks the whole bathroom when used but was fine for the 2 nights i stayed there.

Gut und Günstiges Hotel in Paris
Insgesamt war es ein gutes Hotel. Einfach gehalten, wir hatten 3 Zimmer gebucht und 2 davon hatten kleinere Mängel. Aber war jetzt nicht schlimm. Frühstück war für 9.50 € gut, typisch französische Frühstück mit croissants etc.
Nachts war es auch sehr ruhig.
Wer nach einem einfachen Hotel Zimmer sucht, ist im Hipotel Lilas Gambetta gut aufgehoben.
Lage war auch gut. Viele Bistros, Supermärkte, Apotheke und Bäckereien in der Nähe. Zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten fuhr man nur ca. 30 min mit der U-Bahn.
