Diese Hôtel Bastille

The room wasn't the cleanest; even after being clean you oculd still find strings of hair (that weren't either mine or my partner's). The cleaner broke my charger that I left plugged in and when reported to reception I was told to go and bug one from the shop next door. On a Sunday evening when obviously it was closed. Other than that, quite far feom the centre but easy to get there though, by bus which is literally 1 min away. Many patisseries around, local shops and places to eat and drink. The neighbourhood is really nice, away from the crowds.

We had the worst hotel experience in over 40 years of traveling at this hotel. We were put in a tiny room with a full-sized bed that was termed a "double room" for one adult and two children. There was barely room to walk around the room. That, however, was just one challenge - the ceiling and upper walls of the bathroom had several areas of black mold. We were told repeatedly by the front desk that they would change our room and they repeatedly failed to do so despite their representations - and then on the third evening were told to get our things ready and then they would change our room in the morning. We did as told - and then they promptly told us in the morning that they would not change our room. Between the mold and terrible accommodation we had no choice but to leave after three nights in this terrible place. When we did so, they refused to offer a single euro of refund - not for the mold in the room or the fact that we left and did not stay out the last 5 days of our stay. They then proceeded to refuse to acknowledge that they were proceeding to have others stay in the room and "double book" the place, despite keeping our money. They felt like complete scam artists and crooks.
