Hotel Saint Cyr Etoile

great location, friendly staff. We booked a room for 2 nights and the description in the booking page said it has a bathtub, which we desperately needed after a very long car trip. But the room we were assinged to didn't have a bathtub.

Great location, friendly staff – but small and outdated rooms The hotel’s location is ideal: within walking distance of Porte Maillot, the Arc de Triomphe, and close to a convenient metro line (line 1). The staff are friendly and helpful, which is definitely a plus. However, everything in there is veerrrrrrry small: the rooms, including the bed and bathroom. It feels like you went back to your cosy parents home and got degraded to the smallest room in the house, though with bathroom en suite. The bed is really narrow for a double bed (maybe max 1.50) so you have to deeply love each other and do not want to turn while sleeping, because you will fall out.😬 The “bathtub” is only about two-thirds of a normal size— you can sit in it, with bend legs, but only a small child can lie down. The air conditioning is old and noisy, but doing its job. Overall, the decor feels a bit dated, and even a not really clean. Though some might find it cozy or charming. The breakfast is very simple, and served in a-again- very small breakfast room with just a few tables. So don’t expect a spacious or leisurely breakfast experience. All in all, it’s a good hotel if you’re traveling solo and looking for a functional, centrally located place. Don’t expect modern luxury, but you will get good public transport connections and friendly staff. Btw: 1. The hotel is also rather noisy, so it's something to keep in mind if you're a light sleeper. 2. To charge your phone, you have to unplug either the coffee machine or the bedside lamp.
