WS Hôtel de Ville - le Marais

Great location, but disappointing experience. We were not initially able to enter the apartment because we had been provided with an incorrect key code. It was a surprise that there is no on-site personnel or front desk. This is just an apartment being used as a short-term rental. By sheer luck some other guests were leaving their room as we were trying to enter ours and they had access to a WhatsApp phone number to call the property management. Had we not bumped into them, we would have spent the night on the street. After some back and forth with whoever is managing the property they realized they had given us the wrong code. Once inside, we found one of the bedrooms had black mold growing all along the outer wall and ceiling. We made do for the one night and endured extreme noise from the street below. As there is no AC and it was quite warm, there was no option but to leave the windows open and try our best to sleep through the noise. Would not recommend.

Where to start… uh don’t book it. The end. Kidding. The room was a mess! we got there close to 4 and the room wasn’t cleaned, we were told to come back later. Uhhh ok. When we finally got access to the room I was SHOCKED. It was still filthy and the walls were covered in mold and mildew. When I bought this up o was told I could leave and forfeit my cost for the reservation. Uh also no. The next day the same cleaner was sent to clean the mold. She sprayed a single wall then left. It took 3 shower towels (which we very small) and over 4 hours of me scrubbing to make the walls look habitable. Between the mold, mildew, dirt, dust and overall filth I would absolutely not recommend this hotel. I would also still request a refund as it is not a safe/ healthy environment and it should not be listed for children or adults. It should be taken down until it can be properly cleaned.

The check-in process was seamless and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing useful recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The apartment itself was well-equipped with modern amenities, including a fully functional kitchen and high-speed Wi-Fi, which made it feel like a home away from home.

We stayed here for one night. The location is great, for the rest I really wish I could say something positive but I can't. Kitchen was not clean and outdated, bed sheets did not look really clean, bathroom was ok at best. The worst are the thinnest walls I have ever experienced, it is not pleasant when you heat every word your neighbor says and when their alarm clock wakes you up long before your alarm is supposed to go off.
