Hôtel du Temps

I would like to share with you my experience of this last month with the Hotel du Temps team, which ultimately turned out to be pure theft. When I went to the official website of the Hotel du Temps to book a room, I was automatically redirected to another site called Guest reservation. So I paid for the reservation from this site, and then I noticed that the total price had been increased by €200 and that my credit card had been debited for this additional amount without my prior agreement (and for no reason). I immediately contacted the hotel because I feared that I had come across a fraudulent site (despite the fact that I had been redirected to Guest reservation from… the official website of the Hotel du Temps). The hotel replied that indeed they could not find a reservation in my name and that they did not work with Guest reservations. Still needing a room and thinking that the Hotel du Temps had nothing to reproach itself for, I asked my friend traveling with me to book a room (in her name) in the same hotel, via *********** this time. A few days later, the hotel informed me that there was now a reservation in my name, made via a partner site (unknown to me) called Agoda, and that they could not do anything to cancel it. Under the advice of the hotel, I contacted Agoda; the customer service was accommodating and said they wanted to help me cancel the reservation. However, a few days later, I received an email from Agoda informing me that the management of the Hotel du Temps refused to cancel and refund the room without any other explanation than “it is not the hotel’s policy. ” Surprised, I nevertheless offered to pay the Hotel du Temps the fees (which they could have had because they went through a third-party site) to cancel my room. But the hotel wouldn’t listen, even though we were a month and a half before the date of our reservation. After about ten email exchanges with the hotel manager/owner who repeated over and over that “it’s not the hotel’s policy, I found myself with a double reservation at an exorbitant price. In conclusion, the hotel pocketed 580 euros on the backs of its customers with impunity. And to top it all off, the hotel experience is really not worth the price. The walls are made of paper; you can hear everything. The shower temperature was only set to 50 degrees (scalding) and when I mentioned it to reception they said to me “but you didn’t let the shower run for 20 minutes so that there was cold water..?” .. Uh no.. So I can only invite you to avoid this hotel.
