Overall I would recommend the Ionion Beach Resort. It is in a lovely position right across from the beach almost central in the Valtos beach area and handy for the walk into the old town. We feel it was probably in the best location in Parga. It is around a 10 minute walk via a steep uneven path and several steps up into the old town so I would recommend sensible footwear. Also the lights along the path were not always working so it is quite dark. There is a water taxi available from the beach just a few minutes’ walk away which runs continuously and frequently until 11 pm. There are local walks to the watermill and waterfall up a steep road but shaded here and there by trees. The walk takes around an hour each way and there is a little taverna near the top. The views are spectacular. There a a few small supermarkets nearby, one near the beach and one on a nearby campsite. The Ionion Beach Resort was extremely clean and well-kept with lovely flowers. The staff were extremely pleasant and friendly. Panos in reception was very helpful and pleasant and was there from morning until late in the evening every day. Our room 71 was on the bottom floor next to the reception at the end next to the steps leading down to the restaurant and pool. There is no lift to the 2 floors above so would recommend a room on this level. The room was of a good size, shower room to the left, kitchenette to the right and the rest was the bedroom with balcony overlooking the beach. There was a reasonably sized wardrobe with a three drawer chest of drawers within it and around 10 hangers. There were 2 bedside tables with drawer and ledge at the bottom. There was a dressing table with a drawer and stool underneath and mirror above. There was a unit to store suitcases. The room was very clean and was cleaned to a very good standard every day. Fresh towels and sheets were provided every day. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. There was air conditioning with remote control and digital wall TV. Patio doors with fly screen onto balcony. Balcony had a table and 2 chairs and a rail with around 8 pegs to hand out a small amount of washing. The view of the bay from the balcony was beautiful. It was nice and quiet at night with no disturbance. The kitchenette had a kettle, coffee maker, fridge with freezer compartment, 2 ring hob, stainless steel sink, 2 cups, 2 glasses, 2 wine glasses, 2 sets of cutlery, bottle opener, 2 cups, 2 saucers, 2 plates. All very useful. (scissors would be a useful provision) The shower room was tiny and the shower cubicle also. The shower curtain wrapped around you coming out of the shower. We found it really awkward and I would recommend the owners to extend the shower room into the bedroom as there was more than enough space to do that. It would be a massive improvement. On a positive note the water pressure good. Hot water does not come on until after 7 am. Plenty of lighting and good quality curtains. There were around 20 steps down to
