Kissos Hotel

Just came back from Kissos Hotel, I stayed for 7 nights. Pros Location- close to the beach and is 5 mins away from a number of restaurants. Close to the main bus station, Mall and Lidl. Facilities- 3 swimming pools, for the inside pool you need to ask them to unlock the door. Mini golf and tennis court with a 5 euros deposit which you get back. Room - clean on arrival and enough space for 2 people. AC work throughout the day. Cons Breakfast- only 2 changes daily but basically the same thing Dinner - we only went once on BBQ night, food was very dry but the desserts were lovely Room- 5 euros for the use of the fridge and a cost to use the safe. When you are leaving the hotel you have to leave your key with the receptionist.

The hotel was in a great location, close to bars, restaurants, the beach, and also easy enough to travel to other locations, such as the harbour and the old town. The hotel itself is lovely, the pool areas are really nice and the rooms are a great size and clean. They are a little dated but that didn't affect making my stay enjoyable from the accommodation point of view. The breakfast however was very limited and I ended up eating out a few times to mix it up. The food could really do with a complete overhaul. Overall I really enjoyed staying at this hotel as the majority of staff were friendly and the cleaners are lovely and the pools were great! However we travelled with a 22 month old and on our second day at the hotel were approached by the lifeguard (if you could call her that), who was quite rude in the way she spoke to us. Basically telling us that our little one was not allowed in the big pool unless wearing armbands, even though their were four of us looking after her and holding her in the pool. She told us that it was 'the law in cyprus' that all children had to wear armbands or a swim vest in the pool. On telling her that my child would not wear them as she screamed every time we have tried she continued to then say 'well if you loved your child you would do it'. Now my issue here was the way she spoke to us, it was rude, abrupt and personal and this is not the way a member of staff should be speaking to customers. Also from that day on, she could not walk past us without making a comment, such as 'no armbands today?', 'you are the parent, she is the child, you can make her wear them'. The constant comments on a daily basis put a downer on the holiday which was unnecessary. What also made her comments even more unnecessary was that she wasn't just performing lifeguard duties, she also had other duties such as taking fitness classes and serving behind the pool bar. I just felt it was very rude and then to spout on about child safety, when half the time she wasn't watching the pool and the people in it as she was doing her other non-lifeguard duties. Would definitely not return with my child, unless she could swim.

Just back from a week, thought I’d drop my thoughts. Location Perfect for local attractions, several bars and restaurants and transport links. E Scooter and push bike hire right outside the doors, e scooters is the best way to travel! Rooms I was on the second floor in the main hotel not the superior rooms. The room it self was fine, if you’re a balcony fan, you’ll be disappointed as they are just big enough for two chairs and a small table, in the shade all day. As already covered several times you have to pay 5€ per day for the safe and fridge, I’ve had to pay that for the safe in other hotels, but a little disappointed for the fridge, if they wanted to address some of the poor reviews, this would be an easy fix. Basic room that was serviced daily, I was more than happy.. if you want a massive room with art on the walls painted by artists, I’m sure you could find this at a cost. Hotel pool and grounds The place was really clean, two pools in the sun until late in the afternoon. Pool bar with keo at around 4€ a pint selling ice cream and snacks. My only criticism is the lack of sun beds, by 0900 they were all taken, and being mostly used to be fair! Again such an easy fix that would drive up reviews, I just don’t understand. WiFi all over the hotel too! Food Well.. I think I’d take the advice and eat out, so many restaurants around with reasonably priced menus why not! I was bed and breakfast, tried breakfast twice at different times and it was awful, like a cattle market, with food that was just edible, no fresh fruit! And ＞100 people lining up for one coffee machine and one juice/water machine, again such an easy fix! We asked about the All Inclusive and they wanted 48€ super person per day, I nearly fell over laughing! Overall I had no problems, the cost was very reasonable, but manage your expectations, if you want luxury with Al a carte dining, this is not your place. I hate to say cheap and cheerful, but that really does sum it up, don’t be too put off, it’s really okay!

Great location near everything you need. Bus service to further afield days out. Great staff especially the housekeeping. Comfortable beds clean towels everyday. Very cheap to eat out.

It is a typical 3* hotel. As a British family travelling, my daughter and partner had to upgrade to a superior room as the standard was dismal and dated. We initially booked a superior room and was not disappointed. Lovely and big and direct access to the meandering pool that was more like a swim up room. We went B&B but, honestly, there are so many places to eat breakfast at a very reasonable price cl8se by that we needn't have bothered. My daughter & her partner went all inclusive but unless you drink a lot of alcohol it wasn't worth it. The food left a lot to be desired and we only had breakfast 2 mornings. The dining room was also dated and didn't have a good atmosphere, it would of been ten times better if you could dine outside. The staff were lovely and attentive and arranged a late check out for us due to a late flight. The location is brilliant and I wouldn't hesitate to come back again but only in a superior room.
