Firstly, after reading the negative reviews beforehand we kept an open mind hoping it wasn't that bad. And we were right not to be influenced by the negative reviews. This is a lovely hotel and spotlessly clean. We stayed on the 6th floor with sea view which I would recommend paying the extra for. People comment on the noise. It's only noisy because of guests talking in the hallway etc loudly (sometimes shouting to each other across the hall, inappropriate) and the hotel have no control over this and it's unfair to give a negative to the hotel, this is outwith their control. Yes the lifts are small but it wasn't that bad and you don't wait that long. The food - myself being gluten free I asked the staff for advice what I could eat. The staff are very helpful and the food had allergy labels. Some improvements that could be made; a gluten free corner, having gluten free bread and cereals etc available without having to ask, a gluten free only toaster. The food isn't always hot. And the blonde female member of staff on the grill with the unfriendly face would touch raw chicken/meat and cooked chicken/meat with the same gloves without washing her hands/gloves. This made me uncomfortable and no confidence in eating from the grill. The other staff members cooking on the grill had good hand hygiene and there were no issues with their cooking. Apart from that we always found something to eat. The VIP upgrade was worth it for the comfortable sun beds alone. So chilled there and no queue for the bar. VIP bar has coffee, soft drinks, beer, wine, prosecco, snacks and fresh fruit. This wasn't an issue for us personally but listening to other guests worth Overall this is a really good hotel. Great location. Hard working staff. And we would certainly return.
