From the moment we arrived at the hotel after a long flight, we were greeted by an exceptional team of staff who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Despite the numerous bags we had in tow, every member of the staff, from the guard to the receptionist, eagerly assisted us, making us feel truly valued as guests. A special mention must be made for Henry at the Front Desk, whose hospitality and professionalism stood out during our stay. From arranging our airport transfer to facilitating our check-in and check-out, Henry's dedication to ensuring our needs were met was evident at every turn, making him a true asset to the hotel.
Entering our room, we were pleasantly surprised by its cozy charm. While it may not boast the sleek modernity of newer establishments, the room offered everything we needed and more. The comfortable furnishings, coupled with thoughtful amenities, provided a relaxing haven after a day of travel.

The room was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near the mall and restaurants, which made our stay more enjoyable. The WiFi was fast and reliable, a big plus for anyone who needs to stay connected.
However, there was no access to cold drinking water, only room temperature, and the two complimentary bottles provided were insufficient. While you can request more, the service can be slow at times, which is inconvenient when you need water quickly. A cold water dispenser or more readily available bottles would greatly improve the experience.

First of all: I am not very satisfied with this differential treatment. Before booking, I saw that it was free pick-up and drop-off, and I also saw that it was free pick-up and drop-off in the comments. I want to book the airport drop-off service in the morning! It is said that it will cost 800 pesos. Here, the airport is about two kilometers away from the hotel. I have lived in Manila for more than ten years, and the fare for two kilometers is less than 200 pesos. This is what I don’t like. I have stayed in many five-star hotels and four-star hotels on many islands, and there is no such charge. So in the end, I took the local tuk-tuk by myself! 150 pesos to the airport, within ten minutes.
The hotel is in a deep alley, and there is not much food around! The restaurant in the hotel charges a high fee, and you will get tired of it after two days. The swimming pool is very dirty, so there is no entertainment in the hotel. It is very boring. It is said that the hotel is by the sea, but the sea water cannot be played. It is simply a stinky ditch. Stand by and take a look!
The service is very good, and snacks are delivered every night! The water in the hotel is very unpalatable. I started to get sick on the day I went there, and I got better after I came back, but the thoughtful hotel waiter helped me find medicine!
There are not many types of breakfast. It looks hygienic and tastes good, but it's basically cold. Anyway, it fills your stomach!
Let's evaluate the entire Palawan Island! This is the worst place in the Philippines among the many islands I have visited. It is greedy and the consumption level is extremely high, even higher than Manila City. The hotel called a car for me and charged 750 pesos within 10 kilometers. I returned to Manila Airport today and it was 265 pesos within 10 kilometers. The commercialization is too serious and annoying. I never want to go to this place again. It's a serious rip-off! There is nothing fun!

Good place and nearby restaurant. However, the water in the shower is almost nothing but thinner.

This hotel is in an excellent location, right next to the airport, which makes it incredibly convenient for travelers. They offer a free shuttle to the airport, which was very helpful. The breakfast was also decent, with enough variety to start the day well.
Although my check-in experience wasn’t perfect, the staff handled it as best they could. My room wasn’t ready when I arrived, and since the hotel was fully booked, I didn’t get the twin room I had reserved. However, they were quick to accommodate my family by adding an extra bed for the kids, which made the situation more manageable.
Overall, the location, amenities, and helpful staff make this hotel a solid choice for airport travelers. With a little improvement in managing bookings, it would be even better.

We are a family of 5 and booked two rooms. The rooms were very spacious with nice balconies overlooking the pool. The breakfast was excellent, the pool and beach activities were fun. They even had a fun game room for the kids. Not too far from the airport and transportation to and from the airport was included. The only negative was the construction noise.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Astoria, Palawan. There are many amenities in the holel to help you unwind and feel comfortable. If you reserved this hotel, you will have free access to the hotel's private aqua park, bikes, golf court, paddle boards, kayaks and multiple open pools. The complimentary boat ride to the open see sand island was truly remarkable. There are lots of restaurants and bars offering different types of food. In my view, the most valuable resource is local staff. We felt at home and were eager to return because they were all such wonderful hosts. Many gratitude to the Astoria crew for making wonderful memories.

New wonderful comfortable hotel. The rooms are quite spacious, the bathroom is also spacious. The room with a view of the pool has direct access to the pool. Breakfasts are not tasty, but you can fill your stomach. And there are many cafes around with tolerable and even tasty food at reasonable prices. The landscapes around are very beautiful. In general, a wonderful comfortable hotel with all the amenities for a relaxing holiday.

Outstanding
Rroni mahmudMy two nights stay at El Nido. I took a single room in this hostel.
Room: Very clean. Bed was comfy. AC performance was Ok. Bathroom was clean and had hot water running, had bath gel and shampoo. Wifi worked super.
Service: Staffs are very helpful. I must mention about Kaye who helped me to choose tour operators, food places and things to do in El Nido. Breakfast was fine- american brekafast, some local item and fruits+tea/coffee. Every monday they do a movie night from 7pm at their dining area. Boarders can use manual washing machine for free.
Location: Superb. Only 8/10 mins walk to the happening area of El Nido beach. Las cabanas beach is only 8/10 minutes by tricycle. Airport is around 15/20 mins away.
TTropicalMimosaZuri Resort is about 30 minutes away from the airport. They have someone waiting outside the airport for transfer, but they will charge you roughly $25 USD to and from per person. Check-in was smooth! They are updating to add another pool, but it was minimal noise throughout the day. They have a line of tuktuks (tricycles) waiting to take you to town for about $2 USD. The pool bar was amazing! Zuri has multiple pools, but our favorite was the pool bar with the view. We spent most of our time there. Absolutely the best massage we ever had… still dreaming of it! The game room was simple with a foosball, pool table, ping pong, tv, and 2 gaming computers with headsets. There was a wide variety of breakfast options with the continental breakfast that wraps around the dinning hall. We did the boat tour, firefly and bioluminescence plankton night tour, dugong watching (swam within 2 ft of it), and ATV rides! Nightlife lasts all night long in town… Kuridas was our favorite bar plus (they have aircon). Trip was an overall 4.75/5 … Coron has a distinct smell.
GGuest UserWant to see the sunset🌇Choose a sunset villa, just go out~ Since we played in Coron for two days, the stay in Paradise Island was too short, and we haven't finished walking on the island😅. The swimming pool is a bit small, and the water is stagnant, which needs to be improved.
The room assigned at the beginning was too far from my friend, so I asked to change it. Because there were customers in other rooms, I changed to the next room😂, and the front desk did not arrange your luggage to change directly. I had to call the room to change it. The service was not detailed enough (•︠ˍ•︡)🥺Facing different customers every day, maybe they are also **~Smiling on the surface, ** in the heart, hahaha😁The pretty front desk lady was indifferent~Others would take the initiative to say hello when they saw customers🫰🏻
Then there was no fruit for breakfast, probably because of the island, the supplies were scarce😰.
Finally, overall, it is very suitable for taking children to get close to nature. There are bats, lizards, and many birds on the island🐦~ Very good photos.
GGuest UserThe resort is in a great location with a small but quiet beach and a nice house reef outside. Beware that some units require walking up a lot of steps and the ones set away from the beach have a lot of mosquitoes around.
The staff are super friendly and nice although the service of the hotel could be more attentive i.e when lying on the beach you don’t get asked if you want drinks. Room cleaning was only done once in our 7 day stay and only because we asked for it. Towels are not automatically offered to beach goers all the time.
The restaurant is pretty slow with almost an hour for food to arrive sometimes. The food itself can be nice depending on what you order. Some is pretty good actually…others a bit average.
Pricewise, this isn’t a cheap hotel and I feel that if you compare the price to resorts in other tropical beach locations around the world, you get much better service in other places like Sheratons, Marriotts and Hiltons etc. that said, overall I would still recommend Matinloc for the great beach and reef.
AAnonymous UserWe recently spent a few nights here and overall, it was a decent experience. The cleanliness of the hotel was good, although I did notice that the chairs in our room could use a vacuum, as they had some dark stains. Additionally, the room’s smell could be improved to create a more welcoming atmosphere upon arrival.
On the plus side, I absolutely loved the mattress and comforter; they made for a very comfortable sleep. The location is a major advantage, being right in front of the mall, making it easy to access shopping and dining options.
The staff were generally nice and accommodating, though I found the waiter at the restaurant to be a bit shy. He seemed to lack communication skills, as he didn’t greet customers or smile, which detracted from the overall experience. I think he could benefit from some additional training in customer service.
As for the food, while it was fine, I felt that the prices were a bit steep considering the typical quality and serving sizes.
In summary, while it's not a luxury hotel, it provides a decent stay with comfortable accommodations and a good location. It just needs a few improvements in cleanliness, ambiance, and service training to enhance the guest experience. I appreciated the thoughtful touch of receiving pens upon checkout :)
GGuest UserThe hotel is located about 10-15 minutes from the city center, walking along a busy street.
The hotel has many stairs. MANY. In our case, we had a room on the fifth floor, which involved climbing 100 steps from the bar, which is accessed after climbing two floors (the first to the reception, and then to the second).
Breakfast has eggs made at the moment, (few) fruits, toast and a few other things. It is annoying that they put bananas and mangoes on a counter but say they are not available for breakfast, and that only pineapple and watermelon are the fruits of breakfast.
The toaster is small for the amount of people there is and does not have a hot / cold water dispenser, which requires having to ask a third party to, when they have time, refill the glass of water or add water for tea.
It is surprising that a hotel in a beach city charges a fee for lending a beach towel (100 PHP).
That said, the room was not bad, provided services needed, the reception staff was helpful and helpful.
NNastassiaThe hotel was okay. Not the best, but not the worst. Staff was very hospitable, responding and polite. We did have some issues with the room (clogged sink, weak water supply from the shower head), but the staff did help a lot.
Breakfast was exceptional, worth adding.
The worst thing was the noise outside. There are kids playing some explosive petards at night and roosters screaming since 5 am in the morning, so it was extremely hard to sleep. And we could not sleep at all on New Year’s night because of the fireworks, so I definitely do not recommend booking this hotel during New Year holiday. But if you are a solid unbothered sleeper, you will definitely enjoy the stay 👍🏻
AAnonymous UserThis place is fantastic! Location-wise, it’s really great. It’s very near the city’s commercial establishments and great restaurants - 5-minute drive on average. It’s also near the airport. The neighborhood in which it is in is very quiet and peaceful. So if you want a place that’s very accessible but still in a quiet location, this hotel is for you.
I also would like to commend the staff - they’re all very warm and friendly. They were very accommodating and gladly answered all our questions about our travel.
This hotel has a resort vibe so you really get to relax. It has great amenities, a lovely pool, and a relaxing main reception hall with a billiard table and comfy couches. It also has an in-house restaurant which is great for those who don’t want to go out to dine. Our room was very clean, cozy and surprisingly large for its price.
We would definitely book this place again when we visit Puerto Princesa in the future. Definitely worth the price! 🫶
GGuest UserThe hotel is located right on the beach in the letter P, along the highway, which is also the central road of the city. On the sides there are rooms, at the end of the “legs” there are rooms with an exit and views of the sea, we were visited in one of these rooms (No. 10). Immediately upon check-in, we saw a sign with tour options, in the city they offer four types, we chose tours A and B from the hotel, you can get to Puerto Princesa (700 pesos per person). There is no water in the room, but in the restaurant there is a cooler where everyone runs to fill up bottles, at the reception they sell water for 100 pesos for 1.5 liters, near the market water is sold for 70 for 2 liters (at 7-11 in Manila the same amount costs 46 pesos). The room has soap, shampoo in bags, toothbrushes, toothpaste, they are provided once upon arrival, but it will last for three days, and I already carry my own shampoo and conditioner. The plumbing was a bit old, the sink was broken in one place, but overall it didn’t bother us. Instead of a blanket there was a sheet, and at night I froze a little, then I started sleeping in a T-shirt. I should note that on the last day I discovered bites on myself - I still don’t know whether there were bugs in the pillow (but then I would have been bitten all three days), or whether I was bitten by plankton in the shallow water where I was sitting in water until night.
Breakfast from 7 to 10, rice, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, two types of meat, cucumber water, pancakes, bananas, coffee, tea. Not very varied, but the hot food was different every day, we ate our fill, everything was filling. The first morning we left on time and all the food was already standing, the second time we left on time again, but waited another 15 minutes for food, while the staff was giggling in the main building. The beach is shallow, 4 sun loungers and two hammocks. There are people on the beach either in the morning or in the late afternoon, there is no rush. The water was shallow and reached the buoys and up to the knee. At night the tide is low and if you look out of the room, and we are looking at the water five meters away, there is no water.
Overall we liked the hotel and would be happy to come again. On the right and left there are hotels costing 20 thousand per night and I don’t understand why they overpay so much.
GGuest UserThe service staff is very friendly, and the location is very convenient. You can walk to the busiest street in town and the seaside! The twin room we booked is facing the sunset, so it is very convenient to watch the sunset from the room. The room is big, but you just need to pay attention to whether there are mice...
