Great
Nnick kathmanReally nice resort. Clean, modern, several beautiful pools which were never very full and the staff is incredible. They help in any way they can, including arranging for a last minute boat tour for us well outside of their usual hours and seemed happy to make it work (add the guides they work with are fantastic too). It was a very peaceful and comfortable stay overall.  The one issue is the food, they put a lot of effort into it and have a very large breakfast buffet every day, but the food just isn’t that good. There's one restaurant in the resort and there aren’t many (any?) other food options in the area, so it’s pretty relevant. The food is a bit bland or with strange flavor combinations. And worse, it takes a comically long time to get served, even if just a sandwich, and it’s usually cold when it comes. This happened at all 4 of the meals we had there outside of breakfast.  But... It honestly didn't bother us that much. Partly bc we're not big foodies, but more importantly, bc the staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful. Everyone goes out if the way to make sure you get everything you want and then some. I hope they can fix the food issues and this place would be 5 star

SSun GlobalThe best facility you could have in El Nido - budget or premium. Everything is so well planned and designed. There is not a single point you could complain about. Let’s go one by one 1. Location - right in heart of El nido township. 450 meter or 6 minutes walk to El nido beach where tours begin 2. Pricing - facility provides best available features but pricing is very economical. I was born an Indian. I understand the value for money, this place is what best describes it 3. Staff - they are very courteous and welcoming. 4. Cleanliness - this facility started in 2024 I think. Everything is new and so well maintained Sheets are super clean , so are washrooms and all other places 5. Comes my favourite part - facilities and layout - this hotel has everything you would need. Now if you expect Casinos or shopping malls within a hotel - please don’t come to El nido , you are better off in a tier 1 city anywhere in the world. This hotel provides free breakfast. I booked @ 22.5 CAD a night. If you book early , you could get a dorm for 15 CAD or 11 USD or whatever currency you use - please convert. I could not get it for my first night as only female dorm was available by the time I booked. I booked my first night at One hostel. One hostel is ok, price is super cheap @ 500 php for a mixed dorm but is no where compared to Spin. What Spin offers - free breakfast, there is a free laundry, washing machines - do your laundry here , just get your own detergent , swimming pool - beautiful layout of hotel , a in-house full sized bar with staff - don’t need to go out for a drink at all, one complimentary mock tail voucher upon your arrival ( I got it when I arrived , rules may change with times ) , there is in-house ATM by the bar ( this is the most importantly feature - I have a night limit credit card and I don’t feel comfortable using it in unknown places especially in Asia and compromising it. You are secure to use a ATM which is in your hotel ), there is a designer space for hanging out just besides reception, a beautiful and spacious cafeteria. You can book your tours , hire a bike and book your return to Puerto Princesa from reception. They just note down you name and you pay directly to their partner. The rates are standard and fixed rates of market. They have game nights like beer pong when I arrived, check the short video. The layout of this place is so so good that I wish I could stay here yearlong. Everything is where it should be - it’s indeed a designer hotel. There is a faucet outside hotel to wash your feet - they do get sandy when you arrive from beach- everyone in El nido is a bag packer and wears sleepers when going out. The dorms are so spacious. The lockers are so big for every bunk bed , there is curtain for your bunk bed - full 360 degree of privacy , shared washrooms are big and toilet and shower areas are completely different - you will feel so clean during and after taking a bath as there is no possibility of a urea smell. The sockets in your bunk are so ideally positioned, big mirrors available in washroom and your own room. What it doesn’t have - only a shuttle to the moon I believe Now I did mention I had to book one hostel for my first night of stay. But I visited SPIN upon my arrival , checked out the facility and asked them to book me a tour as I would transfer here next day anyway. When I arrived here early at 7.30 am next morning, the receptionist gave me free breakfast. ( due to be noted that I had not stayed here the last night and that this was way out of the way for early checkin) 10 out of 5 stars for giving me the unexpected and unimaginable at such a great price. I have an option to go for Coron on last day of my stay but I will rather stay here not to loose my one night stay opportunity. Coron can wait , I won’t waste my SPIN night

JJustUsExploringIt was absolutely worth booking this hotel again for my family. We stayed in Villa 102, which had a stunning ocean view that made the experience even more special. The resort also has its own waterpark, where my family ended up spending most of our time. It was a fun and relaxing getaway, perfect for both kids and adults. Highly recommend this resort for families!

RRM TordaCleanliness: 9/10 The room was clean, nice, and tidy. The pillows, bedsheets, and blankets smelled freshly laundered, and the floor and furniture were spotless. Cleanliness is highly maintained not just inside the room, but also in the hallways and other public areas. They do housekeeping every day, change the towels regularly, and always make sure your hygiene kit is fully stocked. The only issue I had was on my first day—the room wasn’t prepared according to my request, possibly due to an oversight. I had to be transferred to another room, and while it didn’t smell very pleasant at first, it was still clean overall. Location: 10/10 If you're looking for a peaceful place with a great view but still not too far from the city center, this is perfect! It’s not far from the airport and is surrounded by restaurants, drugstores are near, small stores for cheap things to buy, nearby malls, and groceries—but then the area isn’t crowded. It strikes a great balance between convenience and tranquility. Btw, if you are just travelling for leisure (DIY),renting a motor to go around is much cheaper than getting a tricycle Service: 10/10 I stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days, traveling alone. The staff made me feel really comfortable and were always ready to help with anything I needed—from check-in to check-out. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Filipino hospitality was truly evident here (Im a Filipino). Special shoutout to the restaurant staff who served breakfast and other meals—they were always smiling, friendly, and attentive. Amenities: 10/10 Everything was in excellent condition and worked perfectly. I especially appreciated the free airport shuttle—it was very helpful and convenient. Since I was also attending to some paperwork during my stay, I was happy to be able to relax and enjoy the amenities in between. Definitely worth the price. I’ll surely come back!

JJiro YuanOur overnight stay at Citystate Asturias Hotel proved to be a delightful introduction to Puerto Princesa, offering a warm welcome and impeccable service from start to finish. From the moment we arrived at the hotel after a long flight, we were greeted by an exceptional team of staff who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Despite the numerous bags we had in tow, every member of the staff, from the guard to the receptionist, eagerly assisted us, making us feel truly valued as guests. A special mention must be made for Henry at the Front Desk, whose hospitality and professionalism stood out during our stay. From arranging our airport transfer to facilitating our check-in and check-out, Henry's dedication to ensuring our needs were met was evident at every turn, making him a true asset to the hotel. Entering our room, we were pleasantly surprised by its cozy charm. While it may not boast the sleek modernity of newer establishments, the room offered everything we needed and more. The comfortable furnishings, coupled with thoughtful amenities, provided a relaxing haven after a day of travel. One of the highlights of our stay was the complimentary buffet breakfast offered at Citystate Asturias Hotel. With a wide array of options to choose from, ranging from local delicacies to international favorites, the breakfast spread exceeded our expectations in both variety and taste. It was a delightful start to our day, setting the tone for a memorable stay in Puerto Princesa. Overall, our experience at Citystate Asturias Hotel was marked by exceptional hospitality, comfortable accommodations, and delectable dining options. For anyone seeking a welcoming retreat in Puerto Princesa, this hotel comes highly recommended, thanks to its attentive staff, cozy rooms, and sumptuous breakfast offerings.

GGuest UserThe resort is in a great location with a small but quiet beach and a nice house reef outside. Beware that some units require walking up a lot of steps and the ones set away from the beach have a lot of mosquitoes around. The staff are super friendly and nice although the service of the hotel could be more attentive i.e when lying on the beach you don’t get asked if you want drinks. Room cleaning was only done once in our 7 day stay and only because we asked for it. Towels are not automatically offered to beach goers all the time. The restaurant is pretty slow with almost an hour for food to arrive sometimes. The food itself can be nice depending on what you order. Some is pretty good actually…others a bit average. Pricewise, this isn’t a cheap hotel and I feel that if you compare the price to resorts in other tropical beach locations around the world, you get much better service in other places like Sheratons, Marriotts and Hiltons etc. that said, overall I would still recommend Matinloc for the great beach and reef.

WWinnieIt was fine for an overnight stay. Breakfast was reasonable here with tea/coffee, pastries. The front desk was not the friendliest of people & I was charged 800php for a lost key card , which I thought was pretty steep. Location was quite good as we wanted to be close to Tao Expeditions. The driver that picked us up from hotel did not help us with luggage at all, we dragged it through bumpy /rocky roads from airport to carpark and then to the hotel. Didn’t offer or lift a finger to help. But it had a great view from the breakfast roof top.

GGuest UserThe staff here is all very friendly, and the owner and manager (B) is absolutely wonderful. She is incredibly kind and available to help with anything that you need. Her breakfast is absolutely amazing, and she clearly cares about the place and her guests. The accommodation is very basic, but it is also very affordable and a quick walk in to the downtown El Nido area, which is great if you are planning on diving or wanting to be close to there to be out at night. There is tons of stuff around and it is easy to rent a bike as well.

GGuest UserThe service staff is very friendly, and the location is very convenient. You can walk to the busiest street in town and the seaside! The twin room we booked is facing the sunset, so it is very convenient to watch the sunset from the room. The room is big, but you just need to pay attention to whether there are mice...

GGuest UserThe hotel is located right on the beach in the letter P, along the highway, which is also the central road of the city. On the sides there are rooms, at the end of the “legs” there are rooms with an exit and views of the sea, we were visited in one of these rooms (No. 10). Immediately upon check-in, we saw a sign with tour options, in the city they offer four types, we chose tours A and B from the hotel, you can get to Puerto Princesa (700 pesos per person). There is no water in the room, but in the restaurant there is a cooler where everyone runs to fill up bottles, at the reception they sell water for 100 pesos for 1.5 liters, near the market water is sold for 70 for 2 liters (at 7-11 in Manila the same amount costs 46 pesos). The room has soap, shampoo in bags, toothbrushes, toothpaste, they are provided once upon arrival, but it will last for three days, and I already carry my own shampoo and conditioner. The plumbing was a bit old, the sink was broken in one place, but overall it didn’t bother us. Instead of a blanket there was a sheet, and at night I froze a little, then I started sleeping in a T-shirt. I should note that on the last day I discovered bites on myself - I still don’t know whether there were bugs in the pillow (but then I would have been bitten all three days), or whether I was bitten by plankton in the shallow water where I was sitting in water until night. Breakfast from 7 to 10, rice, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, two types of meat, cucumber water, pancakes, bananas, coffee, tea. Not very varied, but the hot food was different every day, we ate our fill, everything was filling. The first morning we left on time and all the food was already standing, the second time we left on time again, but waited another 15 minutes for food, while the staff was giggling in the main building. The beach is shallow, 4 sun loungers and two hammocks. There are people on the beach either in the morning or in the late afternoon, there is no rush. The water was shallow and reached the buoys and up to the knee. At night the tide is low and if you look out of the room, and we are looking at the water five meters away, there is no water. Overall we liked the hotel and would be happy to come again. On the right and left there are hotels costing 20 thousand per night and I don’t understand why they overpay so much.
