Blue Waters Lodge

Superlatives are very difficult to describe these premises and the owners. We arrived as guests and left as friends. Highly commended is not sufficient to describe our experience there. Very convenient for the beach and town centre. Breakfast, accommodation, cleanliness and ambience are all absolutely perfect.

Julia and Iain made us feel welcome the moment we walked through the door . I stayed there with my 7 year old grand daughter and we had the twin room on the top floor . Spacious , clean and fresh room . Comfy beds and we both slept well during our 6 nights there . There is a fridge in the room and you are provided with fresh milk and water daily . As well as tea bags , coffee and biscuits . In the bathroom , there are flannels , a hair turban , lens cleaner , shower caps , sun cream as well as shower and hair gel and a rubber duck . You have to give the duck a name and take it home . The little things like this really are the big things that make Blue Waters so special . I requested decaf tea at breakfast and they gave me decaf teabags for my room too . Nothing was to much trouble . A good choice of breakfast , including cereals , cooked , yogurt , fruit and fruit juices . They do their best to cater to dietary requirements ( advance notice obviously preferred giving them time to get what ever is requested in for your arrival) . Ideal location and Julia and Iain are knowledgable about attractions in the area and will happily advise on places to go . Whether staying as a solo traveller , couple or family , they are able to give information on the area suitable for your individual requirements. I have stayed at Blue Waters before and would not hesitate in using them again and I’d recommend them to everyone . Home is where the WiFi connects automatically, blue waters is certainly home from home for me . There is an information booklet in each room with WiFi details in and taxi details in as well as lots of other useful information.

Best B&B! Highly recommend booking this place. Stayed as a family of 4 and Julia and Iain really had thought of everything. We arrived via train and so didn’t pack a lot. They had beach mats, wind breakers etc Also had a bed guard for our little one so she didn’t roll out of bed. Even the bathroom had a hair towel! Breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit and juices along with delicious porridge, cereals and cooked breakfast. All freshly cooked and great. Beds were always made ready for when we got back and they know how to treat the little ones. A service you just don’t get in hotels. The location is perfect, short walk to sea front, town center and station. If you book a stay here you will not regret it!

What to say really, nice and welcoming, rooms are nice and presentable, good to have thing planned as they do go into the rooms to clean and so on, little mini fridges in rooms with chilled water and a small milk, kettle with tea and coffee and so on. Nice throwback to the days of B&B, Breakfast is more filling than you think, dining room is also the bar, not that we used it but looked quaint enough. Food is cooked fresh that morning and do try to accomodate most requests. The biggest issue, especially when travelling is parking, as there's no parking. Its located on possibly the last free to park area in Paignton so fills up quickly, paid spaces down the road however and isnt overly expensive to park for the day if you can get a space. If you can plan activities over not using a vehicle and can leave it parked then ideal!
