Lighthouse Lodge & Cottages

Because Carmel's accommodation options are too expensive, I want to say that I chose the lighthouse in the next town. Unexpectedly great! The room looks much bigger than the photos and the facilities are very thoughtful and complete. The fireplace is really nice and warm! !! 17 days in the United States, this is the best and favorite accommodation ~ In addition to the buffet, there is another menu to choose from (there is no extra charge). Many choices are delicious. Most of the other guests are Americans who come for vacation. It's near the sea, and there are deer nearby, suitable for watching the sunset ~~
Gosby House Inn, A Four Sisters Inn

The breakfast was very good, there were a lot of tricks, just a bit late, it was only 8:00. The location of the hotel is very good, it is very convenient to eat around, about 5 minutes to the beach. The house is beautiful and the facilities are good. Parking is a parking space on the road, and it is available when there is time. I booked $198 on Ctrip. I actually paid $203 in the store. I don't know why? In addition to the exchange rate fluctuation factor, it is nearly ¥100 more than the online one. Scenic spot, the price is a bit high.
Andril Fireplace Cottages

Four of us friends' since school days spent four days at the Andril Fireplace Cottages and absolutely loved it. The accommodations are a number of cottages scattered around the property, which also includes lots of lawn area and inviting chaise lounges. There is a large fenced area for large groups or get togethers with a large picnic table. The individual cottages are perfectly furnished and include small kitchens and plenty of bathrooms. The grounds are lovely and very inviting, and include a gas BBQ and nice spa. Located near Asilomar, you are close to downtown Monterey, Carmel and Pacific Grove. We shared a large two story unit -- we had the downstairs unit, and never heard a peep from the upstairs unit. The kitchen was well stocked allowing us to make most of our meals right there. Our unit was sparkling clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the entire complex is very well maintained. One of the most relaxing places I have stayed.
Seven Gables Inn on Monterey Bay, A Kirkwood Collection Hotel

What an incredible find! From the moment we checked in the staff was so friendly and helpful. We were welcomed with a glass of great champagne and then shown to our room which was really lovely (Seascape.) The ocean breeze was perfect and the bed, pillows, and all the accommodations were super classy and gorgeous all around. The location is absolutely perfect as well. It comes with a nice healthy breakfast and the only thing missing was the ability to have an espresso drink while enjoying the homemade goodies and fresh fruit (they have coffee but fussy me would love for them to invest in an espresso machine!) Gold stars all around and we can't wait to return!
Pacific Grove Inn

My husband and I stayed here at the end of a five-day trip to the Central Coast. Of all the places we stayed at, this was the oddest and most disappointing. Usually we stay at Asilomar, but we decided to save a bit of money and stay here, which looked like a nice, friendly inn right in town. Things were odd almost from the beginning, as I got a phone call asking if this was a good number for me as they had some check-in instructions to text me. Sure enough, when we arrived, we had to use two codes to open the front door and room door. No one was on site to greet us. I never did figure out what to do with the registration slip that was left on our bed, so I just filled it out and left it. The next disappointment was our room, which was in the back of the property on the 2nd floor. My husband is 6 ft. tall, so it was hard for him to keep from knocking his head on much of the ceiling. This room would be good for a single (short) person or for a couple of kids traveling with their parents staying next door. For a couple, it felt very cramped. Another disappointment was no breakfast. As this is a Victorian with a large dining room, we were surprised no food was offered. There are coffee machines in room (powdered creamer, ick) and also downstairs. One nice amenity was a large fridge where you could stow perishable items. I donated a carton of half and half to the rest of the travelers. Another nice amenity was the parking lot, but again, that was also very cramped. Shower could use an upgrade. Overall, disappointing.
The Olympia Lodge

Yikes. Where do I begin? I’d like to think that my poor experience at this lodge must be karma against me for choosing to travel during the pandemic. Perhaps I should have known better. Let’s start with the good. 1. The check-in receptionist is incredibly friendly. 2. Location, location. A hop and a skip away from the beach. 7 minutes from downtown Monterey. You can’t beat that. But sadly that seems to be the only thing this place has going for it. The doors do NOT lock. I mean really. We tried. They only lock from the inside when you’re in the room. Talk about safe right? And to make matters worse, while we stayed there, there was a room throwing a F****NG PARTY near us..I kid you not. They started partying around 9 PM and were banging things around and jumping, yelling, making thud sounds against the walls and floors ALL night long. To me, They sounded to be college aged...I’m 99% certain they did it to take advantage of the fact that there was NO front desk staff at night due to COVID!! This means We had no one to complain to due to their loud noise which made staying here a literal nightmare. And to think, my family is mostly grown. I can’t imagine what kind of hell it would have been to stay here with a baby or children! When we called front desk to report them, there was no one to receive the complaint. It’s currently after midnight as I type this and they are still raging on while we are exhausted and desperate for rest. Literally have had better nights sleep at a motel 6. Please avoid this place at all costs. I don’t care how good of a deal is advertised on t*****z** or G*****n. It’s not worth it to stay at a place where there’s no 24/7 staff to ensure the safety/peace of their guests
