Such an amazing place to stay and highly recommend it! We loved the room and the staff was amazing. We also recommend getting a drink at the bar and chatting up with John and Eric they will not disappoint. Chefs table for dinner is also a great experience and we highly recommend it. Over all this place will make you feel pampered and happy.

Very over priced for the "modern" quality!
This is an old hotel that has been remodeled, the function of out room was very disappointing, the bed was almost on the ground , cannot open windows for air flow, also no blinds on the windows for privacy , and there is only a small little fan, there is no place to sit in the room beside the low bed. The function of the kitchenette was also terrible. There were missing door handles into the bathroom , so again no privacy. Since they had remodeled this , they shouldve went through each room and did an inspection, blue painters was found underneath the kitchen cabinets were the lights were supposed to be.. Paying $300 + per night was very upsetting considering the condition this room was in. Pictures on the website didnt match the room we reserved. Also the stairs getting to the rooms were very steep and not sure if they can accommodate people with disabilities, which is not ok! Very disappointed, because staying in Ouray is one of our most favorite CO destinations.

Disappointing
I would really recommend not staying here during the warmer months. There's no air conditioning. Furthermore, there were no screens on the window in our room so when we opened the windows to let fresh air in it also let in bugs. My room was also near hotel restaurants smoker just outside, so it was quite smoky at times as well. The staff did try to help by providing a second fan, but overall it was just very uncomfortable because of the heat, bugs, and smoke. I would imagine this hotel is much better during the colder months when the lack of air conditioning is not an issue.

My buddy and I stayed at the Western while fly-fishing in the area. It was great! Rustic chic decor appropriate for the town. Comfortable well-appointed rooms, many with views of surrounding mountains in the box canyon. Gorgeous spa where we had excellent massages one morning. We ate dinner at the restaurant two nights - both meals were superb. We particularly enjoyed dining at the table by the kitchen. Fabulous cocktails, friendly and helpful staff - highly recommend.

We didn’t spend the night here, but we did half food and drink on one day and dinner the next. They have a great little happy hour offers affordable pricing on cocktails and light bites. The crispy chicken thighs were amazing! Dinner the next night was superb with, a top-of-the-line New York ***** perfectly grilled as well as pan fried halibut with a crispy crust and all the right accompaniments Were bold and even spicy. The kitchen does not show away from bold flavors, which is awesome! The location is off the main drag in historic building from the 1890s. Superb renovations brought back this old structure to its former glory. Not to be missed!
