Located on the outskirts of Oudtshoorn on a working farm.. very relaxed atmosphere.. We stayed at the beautiful, well-appointed stone cottages about 5 min drive from the main lodge. The 3 cottages share a pool. Perfect to explore the region and do the meerkat excursion. We enjoyed dinner - best ostrich streak had in a long time.

Although we only stayed for one evening, we managed to see so much because the guest farm is ideally located. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and stylish. The food was superb and the variety impressive. The staff and management were very friendly and professional. I can definitely recommend De Zeekoe Guest Farm for a wonderful experience and excellent value for money.

Wir hatten diese Unterkunft für eine Nacht gebucht. Die Zimmer sind nett eingerichtet, einiges bedürfte einem äußerlichen Update, macht insgesamt dennoch einen sympathischen Eindruck. Der Kühlschrank sollte grundgereinigt werden. Der größte der Teppiche wies diverse Verschmutzungen durch die Vornutzer auf. Die Reklamation darüber wurde ohne Zögern aufgenommen und eine Mitarbeiterin mit der Reinigung beauftragt. Leider war der Staubsauger defekt, so dass die Dame kunstvoll mit einem Besen den Teppich abfegte und das Sammelsurium an Schmutz auf die Schippe fegte, das Ergebnis des Reinigungsversuchs war unbefriedigend. Die Aussicht vom Balkon ist sehr schön. Die Bettmatratze war von guter Qualität. Die Außenanlage um den Pool herum ist nett angelegt, es fehlten zusätzliche Liegen für die zahlreichen Gäste. Die Sitzgelegenheiten waren leider mit Vogelkot verschmutzt, so dass man sich dort nicht setzen mochte, das war schade. Das Essen im Restaurant war bis auf die hervorragende Qualität des Straussensteaks, das perfekt gebraten war, enttäuschend. Das Lamm bestand überwiegend aus Knochen mit Fettknorpeln, die Beilagen waren verkocht bzw. zu lange zu stark gewärmt und trieften und waren zudem ganz phantasielos, denn vier bestellte Gerichte wurden mit dergleichen Beilage gereicht. Insgesamt eine für die schmackhafte Küche in Südafrika keine gute Küchenleistung. Das Frühstücksbuffet am nächsten Morgen war gut und umfangreich und machte einiges an diesem Aufenthalt wett.

Beautiful place, beautiful details and amazing staff. The room was amazing and perfectly clean and tidy, they have a restaurant where you can enjoy traditional meals. It's completely surrounded by nature but easy to fino, they organize a lot of activities you can join.

We stayed in one of the stone lodges, some 8 minutes drive from the main reception, along dusty and in place pitted tracks. There are three such lodges, and on our second night the other two were unoccupied, so we felt a little isolated - there are no phones in the lodges, and mobile signal was poor. They lacked some attention - the AC was in the sitting room, and therefore not able to cool the bedroom sufficiently and the tea was not replenished, so no way of getting more supplies without driving to the main reception.there were other points of detail which suggested that these were not being given the TLC they deserved, and were not designed with the guest in mind - bathroom light not but the bathroom, but by door into bedroom etc. may sound picky, but after other places we have stayed in SA somewhat disappointing. That said breakfast and dinner were good, staff friendly, and great to drive through the pass to Prince Albert.

What an overall wonderful place to unwind, the venue and rooms are stunning, the staff is very professional, and the food is great. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are neat, and the views are scenic. I would recommend this place every day if you are staying out in the Klein Karoo.

Sadly left De Zeekoe Guest farm, which is delightful and would highly recommend. Stayed 2 nights as we’re touring, arrived and were quickly shown to a beautiful room but asked if we could swap for a room with a view over the planes and the mountains, we were happy to pay extra but were given free of charge with no trouble at all. We decided to eat both nights at the hotel so we could sample the gorgeous wines and had smoked salmon to start which was the best I’ve ever had (honestly!) so tasty and not greasy like some, followed by ostrich steak .. I asked for fruit for dessert as wasn’t on the menu and again no trouble at all, the staff couldn’t be more helpful! Breakfast was delicious and freshly made with plenty of choice. We did the nearby Ostrich show farm which was both fun and informative!! Highly recommend
