Clean hotel, view of Lake Biwa, delicious breakfast to my taste. There are both European and Japanese dishes. Friendly staff, especially the receptionist, very enthusiastic in introducing shops and restaurants near the hotel.

I was happy to receive welcome fruit.
The room was spacious and well-equipped for the price. It felt basic, but it was reasonably clean.
There were two hairdryers, but one of them would periodically switch from hot to cold, and the other had a hole in the filter.
I appreciated the abundance of amenities.

My partner and I thorougly enjoyed our stay at Biwako Hotel. All rooms face the beautiful Lake Biwako and the view was perfect. We even caught a snowfall on one of our mornings here. The staff was great and always friendly even when there was a slight language barrier. We tried their breakfast as well which was really good. Highly recommend renting their electric bikes and cycling around the lake during sunset. And also going for the Lake Biwako Cruise! The hotel onsen is wonderful as well, we will definitely be back

I couldn't speak Japanese but I could feel that they are treating every customer seriously. Their greetings and sincere services impressed me.
There was a problem with my booking initially, not sure why because I didn't get proper explanation from the hotel and Trip.com, the hotel didn't mention anything however arranged some small surprise when they knew this is an anniversary trip. I tried to upgrade my meal with crab as my wife not quite like beef and fish, they said unavailable so I keep to the original. At the end I got crab, fish and beef that surprises me. I was later received a souvenir from the hotel when they served the dessert.
The hotel is busy but I'm not seeing lots of people, may be all of them staying at their rooms. The experience for me was exceptional when I woke up at 6am witness the beautiful sunrise right outside the huge window, and saw an eagle passing by my camera when trying to capture that moment. Later on when I take the free shuttle bus ride to the nearby train station, I saw an eagle again came down and climbed up outside the station. Not sure it means anything, but definitely this is a very spiritual journey for me.

The hotel is well-known in the Xiongqin Hot Spring area. There was only the last one left when booking. It was not disappointing. The environment is typical Japanese style, comfortable and beautiful. The hot springs are very, very comfortable. It is really great for people who walk 20,000 steps a day. ❤️ There is a shuttle bus to the hotel. You can contact it by phone at Xiongqin Hot Spring Station. It only took about 10 minutes to wait. Thank you👍🏻 The dinner for one stay and two meals is super delicious. It is definitely worth recommending👍🏻👍🏻

The Japanese-style room with street view, the hot spring on the first floor, it is very comfortable, the second floor eats, breakfast and dinner are very rich, the level of cuisine matching is no less than the level of high-end Japanese restaurants in Kyoto!
At dinner, there will be a waiter to help open the bed. I haven't slept in the same room with my parents for many years. I still slept on one bed when I was young, with three beds side by side, so warm. The hotel owner can speak some English, free pick-up and drop-off to JR Okoto Onsen Station and Hieizan Station, and free pick-up and drop-off to Hieisan Cable Car Station
Close to Lake Biwa Harbor, opposite to Lake Biwa Hot Spring Park, you can enjoy the hot spring foot pool for free

Hotel is pleasant but the meals are of average standard for 500 a night catering breakfast and dinner with a private outdoor shower, onsen tub. Service staff are responsive but the surrounding area where hotel is located seems to be housing” girlie bars ” and night girls clubs activities.
Shuttle bus to and from station provided by the hotel.

AAnonymous UserIt was a great stay at this ryokan! The hotel is able to arrange a car to fetch you from the JR station. You can call them using a dedicated phone at the station which is used to contact the different ryokans. The car arrived in 10mins or so. The ride to the ryokan was also less than 10mins. The hotel also fetched us to the station on the last day of our stay.
The ryokan itself is homely and cozy. We were greeted by an english speaking staff who introduced us to the amenities of the ryokan. There was also a nice welcome tea and matcha chocolate. Our bags were brought to our room as well during this time.
The room is spacious and cozy. The hotel prepared 2 welcome biscuits in the room which was a nice personal touch. The room has a nice living room and a great view of Lake Biwa. Recommend to catch the sunrise over the lake! There are 2 normal beds as well as futon beds (need to set up yourself). Both are comfortable. The hotel also prepared pretty yukata for both female and male guests which you can wear during the stay. There are 4 different designs for ladies, and one design for the guys. You can request for different size if the one in the room doesn’t fit you. There is also a full length mirror and a mini dressing area at the side of the living room. It was fun dressing up in the yukata!
The toilet, basin, shower and hot tub areas are all separate. The toilet is a little small, but the basin and mirror area is very spacious. The shower area is quite small as well and the shower head is rather low so you need to hold the shower head if you wish to wash up while standing. There is a small stool given for you to sit down though. The hot tub area is semi-outdoor and you can see Lake Biwa. But it is quite small (only good for one person). It was too cold so we didn’t use the hot tub.
Instead, we booked the private onsen for 50mins. The private onsen has a private toilet and dressing area which is equipped with hairdryer, body lotion etc. There is a water dispenser as well if you need to hydrate yourself. The onsen area has a washing area, and the hot tub area is spacious for 2 person. There are privacy screens around the onsen area but there is a small gap to let in cold air for ventilation. Wish there is a good view from the private onsen but it was still enjoyable!
Dinner and breakfast was Kaiseki style, and the meals were one of the highlights for my husband and I. We really enjoyed the courses which are clean tasting yet wholesome, fresh and flavourful. It was such a sumptuous treat!
The ryokan also has a souvenir shop if you wish to buy anything back.
Overall, my husband and I really enjoyed the stay here and we agreed this was one of the main highlights of our 12 days trip in Japan. Highly recommend!
KKitVery nice. The owner is very nice and helpful. He is able to speak English. Moreover, the private Onsen room is really impressive. Hope I can go next time.
GGuest UserI would have said that we had a wonderful stay: loved the peaceful environment, the food, the morning service…. But then they started the morning with a team of workers going through the temple grounds with deafening leaf blowing machines! Why do they disturb the peace like this? The temple claims to be environmentally conscious, but these machines are noisy, irritating, wasteful and bad for the environment. It made me leave the place in a bed mood.
玩玩樂ㄧ極棒From the window of the room window, you can see Wuhu 😍
I signed up for the early morning paddle experience SUP in advance, just next to the hotel, friends who want to go to Wuhu must not miss 👍
GGuest UserAlthough the room is relatively small, it is very cozy. The environment, facilities, and hygiene are all comfortable. Shopping and transportation are also very convenient. My companions are very happy and are ready to share it with friends who want to come to Japan.
EenjoytheworldDespite the language barrier, you can still feel the enthusiasm of the service staff. There is no bathroom in the room booked this time, a large bath is enough. The free large bath has an outdoor part but no view.
Yyun qing TianThe location is close to Xiongqin Port of Lake Bipa, making it convenient to visit the lake and enjoy the scenery. Omi beef A5 grade Wagyu beef melts in your mouth, is delicious and great value for money. While soaking in the outdoor hot springs, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lake Biwa.
MMozhudishengIt's a 5-minute walk from Otsu JR Station and a 10-minute walk from Keihan Electric Railway's Torino-Seki Station. The location is good. Super is a chain of budget hotels with high cost performance and includes buffet breakfast. I especially want to praise the service at the front desk. The next morning, I found that the traffic was exhausted. The front desk said that Otsu is a small place and needs to go to Kyoto or Osaka to buy, and asked me about the itinerary for the day. I said that I would go to Koyasan and transfer in Osaka; after that I went to have breakfast. Halfway through the breakfast, the front desk came over with a color printed map (Osaka JR Station), and told me that I checked it. There is a yodobashi, which is on the right hand side of the station. I thank you. After eating, wait for the elevator , she came here with a highlighter in order to mark yodobashi on the map, it was just a trivial matter, but this kind of service awareness, the spirit of feeling that I can still do it, moved me, it is worth learning, stranger , a small city, a small thing makes Otsu warm and memorable.
일일둔이The location was a bit far from the nearest station, so it was a bit difficult for me as a walker. It was a shame that there wasn't a convenience store nearby, but you could buy what you needed inside at a low price. The room was spacious and the private shower room and bathroom were very clean and nice. Of course, good friendly service!!
AAnonymous UserTraditional Japanese-style residence, tatami room, homestay, Chinese person in charge. You can stroll around the lake. Sound insulation is not good. Consciously keep quiet and normal work and rest. Don't disturb others.
