I'm truly fascinated by the excellent reviews of this hotel. The front desk staff was very friendly and the rooms were ready when we arrived around 1pm, which was fabulous. This is where the fabulous ends. We have two rooms; a Junior Suite with balcony and a King room. The rooms aren't great. Furnishings are dark and aged. The bathroom is small and the toilet is right next to the sink, not separated at all, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. I asked for another room because our view is of a building that looks like a prison. The number of maids' carts and vacuums in the hall is crazy. I don't think there are many choices in Oslo and I would say if you are one person , here on business this would be fine. But, for a holiday away... definitely not the place for discerning travelers.

Amazing Hotel. Would recommend to anyone. Great location and rooms are great. Staff awesome and can't do enough for you. Check in and check out very smooth. Breakfast is the best in Norway. Do not stay anywhere else. It is the best hotel in Oslo.

Our room was facing the Main Street and as such received all the noise (even during night) of the buses coming back and forth. Noise control windows are very much needed. On the positive side front desk service, and attention from all staff was great. Breakfast deserves a special call out: very good! Finally the hotel location is very central and has easy access to public transportation.

Negative Review: My recent stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. Despite booking a three-night stay while traveling on a red-eye flight from Florida, the check-in process turned into a frustrating ordeal. Despite prepaying through American Express, upon my early morning arrival, I was informed that my room was not available due to being labeled as a "no show." Instead of promptly resolving the issue, the front desk staff took their time creating a new reservation, leaving me waiting until 4 pm to finally obtain a room. This lack of organization and communication is unacceptable. The hotel not only failed to deliver the service I had paid for but also refused to reimburse me for the first night that I missed due to their error. I wasted an entire day waiting for a room that should have been ready for me as a prepaid guest. Such incompetence from the booking department and the apparent disregard for customer satisfaction is truly disheartening. While the front desk personnel were friendly, it was the management behind the scenes that failed me. It is unacceptable for a guest to be treated in this manner, especially when the reservation was made well in advance and paid for in full. Based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel to anyone. If my room had been available for an early morning check-in, I would have been okay with the charge.
