The hotel location was ideal and not far from oslo city centre with a metro station across the road and several bus stops very nearby.
Most of the staff were very helpful however there was one gentleman who appeared to assist but then no result to his said actions.
Additionally the first room he provided he stated would have view. The view was of the hotel from the window. The room he provided was unclean and filthy. We requested a change to our room with his colleague. She was very helpful and gave us a great room very clean room with a view of the river, but only thing is we had no phone in the room. We requested one but was told one would not available until later on the week. This was not beneficial as we were leaving.
The amenities were ok however the hotel had direct access to mini shopping mall which had some lovely coffee shops and general convenience stores, which was great. Therefore we did not eat at the hotel.
Overall apart from the above issues it was a pleasant stay and we extended it by a day which was a smooth process and we was able to stay in the same second room.

This hotel is very good, the breakfast is even more rich, there is a parking lot, there is also a supermarket around the corner, there are many things to buy, it is worth recommending. This time on a business trip to Europe, this hotel is the most cost-effective, because we rented a car, it is very convenient to drive in and out

Driving through Oslo is a very good choice. After all, the parking fee in Oslo is so expensive. The tram at the door is very convenient to go to the city. The youth hostel also organizes many activities, such as free admission to the Munch Art Museum on Wednesday nights, hiking together, etc. Breakfast and evening tea are free. It is free to park in the city after 8 o'clock in the evening. In summer, it is still light after 10 o'clock. At this time, there are few people and beautiful scenery when visiting the city. There are public kitchens and clean bathrooms.

The room is not big, Jinjiang Star standard;
I checked in on the evening of 10/3. The Middle Eastern woman at the front desk had no expression from beginning to end. After checking in, I found that there were no slippers, so I called, but no one answered, so I went downstairs to ask. I met a tall white man in a suit checking in, so I lined up to wait. At this time, the receptionist smiled like a flower, and his voice was soft and happy with a little clip tone. After the man finished, I was facing the expressionless mode again. The switch was so fast, completely seamless.
I left on 10/5. I stored my luggage in the morning and went back to pick it up in the afternoon. The receptionist was also a Middle Eastern girl, tall and strong, with a natural smile. I asked her about the airport bus, and she not only told me, but also took me to the door to show me the route.
5 years in the future Northern Europe, the biggest feeling of this trip is that Middle Eastern immigrants have been engaged in various service industries in large numbers, and the proportion of pedestrians on the road has also increased a lot. The trends of the global village are similar

I had a fantastic experience at Bunks at Rode during my stay in Oslo. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a modern yet cozy design that makes you feel right at home. The hostel is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out, offering both comfort and convenience.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with great recommendations for exploring the city. The location is perfect close to public transport and within walking distance of some great local spots.
The common areas are a great place to meet fellow travelers, and the vibe is social but not too noisy, allowing for a good night’s sleep. The beds are comfortable, and the overall facilities are top-notch
I’d highly recommend Bunks at Rode to anyone visiting Oslo, whether you're a solo traveler or with friends. It’s a great value for the experience you get! I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip.

If you rent the entire room, the check-in experience will be very good. It is very clean, with hot water all day long. You can also cook something by yourself. The heating is sufficient. The supermarket underneath is also very convenient. Self-service check-in is also very convenient.

The hotel is new, well-equipped, with a rich breakfast and a quiet room. The hotel is far from the city center and requires three subway stations. There is no safe in the room. If the room needs to be cleaned, you need to tell the front desk one day in advance. The air conditioning in the room cannot be adjusted.

GGuest UserA beautiful room but experienced a number of disappointments.
Hotel guests must pay a supplement daily charge to use the swimming pools AND book at designated time slot. I have NEVER experienced this at any hotel anywhere in the world. I was in a premium room, but this policy applies to all guests, which I think is awful. It was also impossible to get a spa appointment during my stay. Zero preference given to hotel guests. I strongly suggest you book spa treatments at least a week in advance of your arrival. Also, there is no turndown service, unusual for a highly priced 5* hotel. Housekeeping also finishes very early, or isn’t interested in guests who don’t align with their schedule. I had to work in my room but left at 2:45pm and it was not cleaned despite signalling the room needed making up. The reception team were polite, but chaotic. Generally, the hotel restaurants seem more focused on catering to outside guests, which is a shame.
Ppeace.joy.hope.love.faith.eatsWalking distance to opera house. Check in and check out via machine. Extensive lounge space. Microwave available at kitchen. There is a kettle and sink at the kitchen as well but not much else.
TTW2024The Front Desk staff are polite and they smile. Great services from the lady in breakfast on 4 Oct 2024. Clean and spacious room. Thanks for the upgrade so we have a room with a corner bathtub. Room has a tube standing fan, luggage rack, working desk, 3 windows but no kettle and no small refrigerator. Heater works well. Buffet breakfast is good for the price in Europe. In South East Asia with this room rate, we will have better breakfast. The outdoor area on 8th floor has great view and you can smoke there.
CChristel FungI had the pleasure of staying at Comfort Hotel Xpress Youngstorget on the night of July 28th, and I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional service provided by Mr. Ponters during his shift from 10pm to 2am.
During my stay, I encountered a significant challenge as my luggage had been delayed for two days with no updates from the airline company. In this moment of distress, Mr. Ponters went above and beyond to assist us. Not only did he generously offer the hotel telephone for us to contact the airline company, but he also displayed genuine concern by consistently checking in on us to ensure we were coping well with the situation.
Furthermore, Mr. Ponters did not stop there. Understanding our predicament, he took the initiative to recommend nearby stores where we could purchase essential items such as toothpaste and slippers. His thoughtful suggestions made our temporary inconvenience much more bearable.
Mr. Ponters' kindness, attentiveness, and willingness to provide assistance in a time of need truly set him apart. His exceptional customer service skills and genuine empathy exemplify the epitome of hospitality.
It is without a doubt that Mr. Ponters deserves to be commended for his outstanding performance. His dedication to ensuring the comfort and well-being of guests is truly commendable. In my opinion, his exceptional service merits recognition, and I strongly believe that he deserves a raise for his exemplary efforts.
Thank you, Mr. Ponters, for turning a challenging situation into a positive experience through your kindness and exceptional service. Your professionalism and empathy did not go unnoticed and were greatly appreciated.
BBillNot a good experience at Numa Hallen. NOT RECOMMENDED. Rooms are big, clean and quiet. However, the “hotel” is not supported by any staff.
The digital check in failed initially. We did not receive the check in email as advised. Maybe if you book directly with Numa, not a third party like Trip, this might work. Don’t know. We rang the web site and Trip advertised phone number to get a check in email. It is disconnected. This defect is recorded in previous reviews, Does anyone read these complaints?
Read the previous reviews and noted the WhatsAPP number to be found at door front. Was ready for this we thought. The WhatsAPP number only has a virtual attendant. So no verbal communication available only short text messages readable. Jumped through many hoops and eventually received our check in details on the kerb outside the hotel. Thought we would be sleeping on the street for a while.
Once inside we noted the big sign in kitchen about leaving a window open when cooking. Next morning all fire alarms in the hotel section went off. A closed window somewhere perhaps. Alarm couldn’t be shut off so we evacuated with our bags like many others. Guess it must happen often due to the prominence of the sign.
The experience wasn’t good and is a great example of technology making life more difficult. The quest to remove people from hospitality jobs diminishes the hospitality aspect. It also leaves no backup except for meaningless, valueless, unaccountable apologies.
The communications failures and fire alarm intrusion are significant infrastructure short comings.
Wouldn’t stay there again.
PPetreThe hotel is located at 5-6 minutes relaxed walking from the train station - just near the sea. It has a small lobby, but we could also use some tables of its restaurant, while enjoying free coffee or tea throughout the day. It also offers light dinner included in the price and it was one of the reasons I selected it. The dinner includes buffet of few salads and amazing dressings, as well a daily soup, a meal and freshly baked bread. The breakfast was very tasty, beautifully decorated on a small table - including varieties of options for every taste, immediately re-filled when emptied. Everything offered was of a high quality.
There is also a free gym and sauna.
The room is not big, but is sufficient. Nice decoration. Not too big beds in a twin. The toilet is quite tiny, with intelligent shower cabin.
Nice huge windows with sun the whole day long. Surprisingly - there was no fridge. The TV had only few, national channels.
All staff members are very polite and helpful.
I got the room immediately on arrival - few hours before official check-in time. The check-out is really fine - set at noon. There is very small, but free luggage room.
Finally - I got very good price for it on Trip.com, compared to the other providers.
SShauna McFaulFor our stay, we booked a studio apartment at The Sweet. The room was lovely and kitchenette was well-equipped. We were able to cook meals there over the days of Christmas when most restaurants and shops were closed. The location is a little outside of the center- nice and quiet but easy to access public transit.
My biggest issue with this hotel was that communication was very… odd. As the booking notes, I called the hotel in advance to schedule my check-in. When my call was answered, I told them who I was and that I was calling to schedule my check in (for a time when the booking said check in is available). I was told no one would be at reception at that time (3pm on Dec 23) and they would text me instructions for how to check myself in. Then she confirmed my phone number and asked for my email address, but when I started to give it, she said, “oh, that’s ok. We can’t use email anyway”. Odd. Before getting off the phone, I had her confirm that I would receive a text the next day with instructions to check in.
Our train arrived around 2pm in Oslo and we still hadn’t received a text, so we waited at the train station thinking perhaps they would send the text right at 3pm since that was the time I had requested. At 3, I still hadn’t received anything, so we called the hotel again. A different employee answered from the one I had spoken to the day before. I gave my name and explained that I was calling because I had scheduled check in the day before but hadn’t received the information to check in. The employee asked where I was and told me that there were people staffing reception to help us check in, which I thought was odd because the previous employee told me no one would be there. When we got to the hotel, we rang the bell and got into the building, but reception is apparently in the basement- there is only a very tiny sign that says this- so we missed it and I called them again. A man came up with our keys and got us set to go.
We got into our room and it was lovely! About 5 hours later, I got a call from Trip saying that the hotel is trying to contact me because they are wondering why I hadn’t checked in and they don’t have a way to get in touch with me. I was sitting in the hotel room when I got this call. I told the Trip representative that I was checked in and it was fine for her to give my phone and email to the hotel.
I know the communication elements have taken up a huge portion of my review and I know they are not the end of the world, but I want to share them because I believe it would be quite simple to avoid situations like this in the future and make the guest experience that much more pleasant at The Sweet.
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the hotel overall and thoroughly enjoyed exploring Oslo!
GGuest UserWhen I checked in, the front desk didn't check that I paid on Ctrip, so I made a mistake... I received a refund when I returned to the room (I saw some reviews saying this, so friends who check in should pay attention)
But everything else is good!
The service at the front desk and the restaurant is very nice
The room is not big but very clean (please bring your own toiletries and slippers, which are not provided here in Northern Europe)
Breakfast is one of the highlights here. The omelette mixed with mashed potatoes is worth trying. The other flavors are also very good and rich! And not very salty... God knows I would be killed by the salt in Norway
The location is also very good, 5 minutes walk to the train station, next to Munch and the Opera House
There is a Japanese ramen restaurant nearby, which is also delicious~
In short, it is a good choice
YYSLimThe location was absolutely fantastic, being located right across Oslo Central Station. This made it really convenient bringing our heavy luggage to the room and there was also no stairs involved. The room had all the basic necessities, but I was sorely missing room slippers to keep your feet warm in the cold. While there was a coffee machine, there was no kettle provided, if you want to make a cup of tea instead.
However, the one thing that truly sets this hotel apart is the breakfast, which is stellar compared to other hotel breakfasts you might get in Europe.
AAdalineTruly one of the best hotel stays I have ever experienced. The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure we were well accommodated and comfortable throughout. When we arrived at the hotel it was 11AM, so I mentioned to the front desk staff that I know it was far too early for us to receive our room (check in is typically at 3PM) and that we would like to simply drop off our bags. Without any special requests, the front desk staff immediately prepared our room keys of us to check in right away, which was hugely appreciated since we had caught a very early morning flight in. We loved the room. It was very comfortable for the 3 of us, although a bit tight but that's what we expected for hotel rooms in Europe. The bathroom was well fitted and had all the basic toiletries required (shampoo, body wash, hand soap), however we hoped to have body lotion as well, so we asked housekeeping whether any was available and they immediately brought 3 LARGE bottles for each of us to use. I have never seen such massive toiletries and in such generous quantities supplied at any hotel before, which again made us feel very well taken care of. Finally on our check out day our flight was not until 6PM and since checkout is typically at 11AM I requested for just a 1 hr extension. Although they were very busy for it being the beginning of summer holidays, without any hesitation the front desk staff extended our checkout time to 3PM. I was once again very pleasantly surprised and appreciative. My last note is to touch on the complimentary tea and coffee always available in the lobby, as well as the fabulous buffet breakfast they served. Cannot recommend this hotel enough!
