We booked the Cocoon Maldives to celebrate our up coming 30th wedding anniversary, and we were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We had a Lagoon Suite, which had a newly fitted slide, which we were not expecting. But just having the steps from the suite directly in to the sea was amazing. The suite was massive, and great view over some of the resort. Smaller suites opposite us, would have views across the sea. The staff were very helpful, and as my wife has Coeliac, they were on hand to offer Gluten Free bread, or arrange special desserts if necessary. But the food in the Octopus buffet restaurant was very good, with a different theme every night. There were options to dine at the Manta or Japanese Restaurant, at an additional cost. But we decide against trying these, as they were quite expensive. Probably looking at around $250-$300 for 3 courses for 2 people. It was a shame, as these restaurants, were never very full, so if they were made a little more affordable, then I'm sure more people would pay the extra. But as we didn't try them, we couldn't commit if they were value for money. Other additional personal dinning experiences were also available, and although still expensive, I could imagine they would be popular for honeymooners. The facilities were great, there is a Spa, Gym and Water sports centre. And there is also a Suba diving centre if that's your thing. There was also a kids club, if you wanted to bring them as well. These were also all additional costs. We did pay extra for a Dolphin spotting and Turtle snorkelling experience. This cost us $100 each and last about 2 1/2 hours. It was good, but only 3 of us on the boat. Again, if maybe priced a little cheaper, maybe more people would be inclined to give it a try. There were free snorkelling trips most days from the resort, which last about 1 hour, which we did. This takes you by boat to a reef just off the resort. This was quite popular, so worth booking in advance. The all inclusive bar, had enough selection for us, although premium cocktails could also be purchased at around $12 each, but we never felt the need for these. As previously mention, all the staff were friendly and helpful, but there were some that made our trip very special which i would like to mention:- Adda our resort host, kept us informed of what was going on and what else was available to us. Anipa our Restaurant host, who always remembered our room number and names, which was a nice touch with so many people she sees. Kisar & Ninety just two of our restaurant servers, who remembered what we were drinking and the gluten free bread without asking. Pradeep the head barman, who greeted us by name, and made us feel very welcome, and a great asset to bar team. And last but not least Jambe our room cleaner, who was quick and efficient and always made sure we had everything we needed. But to all the rest of the staff, from servers, chefs & bar thank you. in conclusion, and great resort, a
