We have just returned from an unforgettable stay in the paradise that is Cocoon Maldives. This holiday without exception was absolutely fantastic, in spite of a few cloudy rainy days. The genuine friendliness, care, and attention of ALL staff from the moment of arrival until the final minutes of departure ensured that we continued to enjoy ourselves. There seemed to be genuine friendliness and camaraderie between the staff themselves which helped to spill over to guests, so you didn’t feel you were getting the hollow ‘have a nice day’ experience of many resorts. It was particularly impressive to see how all staff pulled together and worked hard with good humour to clear the beautiful beaches of seaweed on a few windy days - doing so in between shifts of normal day jobs! We stayed in a Beach Villa which was beautifully secluded and surrounded by vegetation ensuring both shade and privacy but also very easy access to position sun-loungers under palm trees on the beach - idyllic! The villa itself was pristine and we loved the outdoor bathroom. Every attention to detail was included with our room attendant Yoon ensuring fresh towels, linens, and plenty of bottles of drinking water throughout our stay. We were blown away by the standard of catering provided on the all-inclusive package (I have to admit I am often disappointed by all-inclusives that do not adequately cater for non-meat eaters). The vast variety and quality of all food provided at breakfast, lunch, and dinner was absolutely amazing. Big shout out to lovely smiley Senushi who did the most perfect omelettes at breakfast AND ensured that my Tuna at lunch was just timed to perfection. Also I particularly enjoyed the daily variety of fresh pasta and sauces by the lovely pasta chef whose name I forget but he willingly shared his recipes with me - thank you! The many dining room staff were all delightfully attentive and ensured we were seated with our friends, remembered our names, and anticipated our drinks orders in advance - special mention to both Hassan and Sakshi with the beautiful smile and delightful sense of humour. We had a fabulous specialty evening meal at Manta, dining on the deck. We also made a regular habit of enjoying the sunset beach bar area which was delightfully underpopulated and very relaxing with a beautiful sea breeze. The lovely young smiley Dian from Bali took very good care of us… again, anticipating which round of drinks to bring next after our first visit! Definitely a five star review for a five star resort. Whatever management is doing - KEEP IT UP - if you keep your staff happy it spills over, reward them for jobs well done and your guests will continue to have great experiences!
