Hyatt Place Omaha/Downtown Old Market

Great hotel, super location, and very friendly staff. We didn't have much time to spend in Omaha, but we were able to walk to several places in the Old Market area given the hotel's excellent location.

The hotel's location is in the center of Old Market. The room are very small and there has been an update but attention to detail was missing. Thehotel servcied its purpose but was bare minimum. We were lucky to be hear on an off weekend. It could get very loud. The doors are super heavy and they slam shut. They supply earplugs. The staff is nice. The beds were comfortable. The AC worked. Good location if you do not care about details and just need a place to sleep.

Can't turn temp up so it is cold. Mattress ok, sheets uncomfortable , and no heavy blankets. Didn't even provide one of any kind for hide a bed with out asking. Ended up doubling blanket and covering with towels. I know I was paying for location, but I expected comfortable and warm bedding.

Don’t lie to yourself and believe the Hilton Place Old Market/Downtown is going to solve all of your problems, but it will provide you reasonable accommodations in Omaha. I recognize it is very difficult to make money at $167/night taxes and breakfast included. This place is really nothing special with some EXCEPTIONAL THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW OF: The old market area of Omaha is really quaint and a great destination. I would stay here to be within walking distance of the quaint shopping areas. I only happened to be here and there are some very cute shops. There are a handful of vintage stores, some lefty merchandise stores, toy stores and candy shops that sell records. I think this would be a cute area to go on a date with little restaurants/bars and/or ice cream. So a happenstance stroll turned really well. The staff did help make the difference at the hotel. The person who checked me in was very helpful and handled two of my requests (non-feather and a room change due to a cleaner smell - nbd, hey the place is clean). Also really enjoyed the lady that made the room feather free. She was fun. And in general you really noticed how hard working the cleaning staff was. I would not have given this hotel 5-stars if the staff didn’t seem in general engaged and happy to help. The hypoallergenic bedding was comfy but you need a ton of the pillows. I slept great. I also like that the room was essentially all hard surfaces except the couch. I love an easy to clean hotel room because then you end up with a clean hotel room. I had the hotel breakfast and it was really basic, but edible. I have some fondness for hotel free breakfasts because they are quick. There were a lot of happy parents. I love that Hyatts recognize and seem to reward Discoverist status (lowest level). This one was the same and I just appreciate it. I probably stay at a Hyatt maybe 15 nights a year and it’s nice to be recognized. I only stayed here because it is the only Hyatt in the Omaha market. This is really a review of World of Hyatt and it works. I hate Marriotts as a result of a really awful experience Mandapa: a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. I can’t do that. Extremely dissatisfied with our experience. The entire downstairs lobby area was uncomfortably hot, making it unusable and even too hot to eat breakfast. When I brought up my concerns, the front desk staff was dismissive. I was given the wrong customer service number and told they didn’t know the manager’s last name. Absolutely unacceptable. Awful experience. I would never consider staying at a Hyatt again.

Great location, great staff, great place to stay! Booked a last-minute stay because I drove my family from Hutchinson Kansas to visit the Omaha Zoo. Hyatt Place was only 5 minutes from the Zoo so that was very convenient. Will definitely being staying here in the future!
