Hampton Inn by Hilton Omaha UN Medical Center Area

I was excited to stay at a new hotel and my experience was unfortunately subpar! Yes, the furnishings were new, which was great, but the general hotel areas were not at a new standard. And, the things that I saw were not cleaned in the four days that we were there. The windows were dirty, the carpet was dirty in the elevators, and there was grunge on the elevators, possibly from the construction (which was over weeks ago!). You pay $15/day for parking, even if you park on the street (where there are very few spaces). The lobby is on the second floor, which seemed strange, and the entire building just feels and sounds hard and industrial. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so after showering it was necessary to use the hairdryer to dry the mirror. All-in-all, I expected more from a new Hampton. And, the kicker was that when I checked my credit card account, I had been overcharged. So I called the front desk and got the most unprofessional gal on the phone, not just once, but three times! Again, I expect more from a Hampton. Hopefully they get their employees trained and things improve. The hotel is in an excellent location if you are visiting the Med Center or doctors' offices in the area.
