No.26 by the Sea

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff we met were very friendly and I appreciated the welcome drink. Lovely bathroom and hot well pressured rainfall shower. Nice toiletries were provided and plenty of towels and robes. Breakfast was delicious and there was a good variety of items all cooked to order. Fresh juices available. Little basket with juice and mini pastries brought to the room in the morning was a nice touch. Why only 4 /5 then? Minor things could have easily tipped this to a 5/5 - a coffee machine in the room would have been good, the room had a balcony and the balcony had a sea view , but there was no view from the room itself (was quite dark) and windows looked on to other bits of buildings. Balcony was nice but the Scottish weather renders this unusable for bit parts of the year. So it would have been good if it had been clearer that the room itself had no view and we might have chosen a different option. Honesty bar downstairs was nice was a useful feature but perhaps lacking a bit in variety and maybe needs some snack options.

What a lovely property - we had such a wonderful room. Breakfast was delicious and the host could not have been nicer and provided very interesting background information on the property, Oban and the surrounding area. Front lounge was a welcoming place to sit and watch the water. Highly recommend.

A gorgeous little boutique-vibe, home-from-home experience in a wonderful location with wonderful staff and a gorgeous breakfast. Our Intimate room (the only once left when we booked) was small but well appointed. My only constructive feedback would be that it’s badged as a King Size bed but feels more like a standard double. And that the lighting is so poor, even in the bathroom, that applying makeup was a challenge. All the staff are absolutely brilliant with a call out for Rachel who gave us such a warm welcome and lots of tips on Tiree. And also the breakfast chef whose name we don’t know. His breakfasts are put together with such care and skill. A really lovely experience. We will definitely be back but look for a more spacious room with (hopefully) a bigger bed. We liked the honesty bar set up and the lounge area was a great place to chill, as well as the outdoor terrace in good weather. We also popped along to the ‘main’ sister venue at No. 17 for dinner in their Italian restaurant which was absolutely gorgeous.

I haven’t been on TA for a good while but I’m back as I must leave this review. A most lovely hotel which is right on the sea front with a woodland behind. Perfect! The hotel has private parking and the checking in procedure was smooth. We had our black lab with us who received VIP treatment from all the staff! We had breakfast each morning which was excellent as was the hotel.

Absolutely wonderful stay at No.26 By the Sea. I stayed in the beach view apartment with my son (15) and we could not have been better cared for. Took the luxury of having breakfast in the hotel every day which was amazing - meticulously prepared and presented with love. The views are spectacular and the accommodation is amazing. Carrie was wonderful as were all the staff. Only criticism (and it’s very minor) is the questionable art in the living room of the apartment. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back. Wonderful place! Well done all 👏

A beautiful costal walk to the 26 by the sea, excellent view from the front terrace overlooking the sea , plenty to look at and a beautiful sunset. Hotel was spotless, comfortable bed, room had own sun terrace, friendly helpful staff, amazing breakfast, and a bonus of fresh orange and pastries to wake up to outside your room door. Breakfast choice was amazing as so was the food.
