My husband made a reservation for my birthday. I remember being overwhelmed by the splendor of the view of Mt. Fuji from our room and the deliciousness of the food when we visited here many years ago. Shortly after that, I gave a stay here as a gift to a special person. Many years have passed, and now that we are through the COVID-19 pandemic, my husband asked me, "What kind of inn would you like to go to for your birthday this year?" I answered Shotokan. There was no particular place I wanted to go to, but if he said so, I thought Shotokan would be a good inn with a hot stone bath. (Sorry.) The result. Since it was after the COVID-19 pandemic, the hot stone bath was abolished, and the meals in the private rooms were also canceled, so we ate in the room. However. My husband borrowed fishing gear (for a fee) immediately after arriving and enjoyed fishing, and he happened to catch a few fish. It was soothing to watch him like a boy. When I asked the gentleman (customer) who was enjoying fishing next to me the name of the fish he caught, he kindly told me and I felt relieved. It was always just my husband and I. From check-in to check-out, the wonderful gentleman and waitress gave me a luxurious time, which wiped away my twisted personality that no matter where I spent my birthday, it would just be the same old drunken night. Even though it had been many years since my first visit, the food was still incredibly delicious. The dishes were particularly noteworthy. Even if I liked this dish and wanted to buy it somewhere and serve it at home, I have no confidence that I would be able to serve food that matches it. The person in charge of the room was a young man, but he was a gentle man who added a touch of elegance to an adult's birthday. Of course, the man who moved the car was also very gentlemanly, so I was able to leave the car with peace of mind. My husband asked for chiropractic treatment before dinner, and his skill was real. My husband complained of insomnia, and the chiropractor's technique was a clean hit, and he fell into a deep sleep early, even though it was my birthday. I was very satisfied every night, soaking in the hot spring in my room with a delicious red wine in hand. I was happy to spend my birthday here. I think it's perfect for adult couples looking for something out of the ordinary. If the weather is good, you can see Mt. Fuji in the morning, but the surprise doesn't have to be Mt. Fuji to be good enough. By the way, the birthday cake was delicious.

This is a wonderful Japanese-style inn where the bath attached to the room is always filled with hot spring water. It is clean and the Japanese-style rooms have a nice atmosphere. Izu's original Japanese cuisine and alcohol are also delicious, so I hope you will enjoy the food. Also, although I couldn't see it this time, you can see Mt. Fuji from your room when the weather is good.

Very nice staffs and remodeled room, however there was a bit lack of “tradition”. You can barely see Fuji mt from the room and the public onzen at the top of the ryokan, dépend on the weather. The food was delicious, and the portion is more than enough for an adult. I always enjoy staying in ryokans to experience the good old times.

Not worth the price. Even though I made a reservation online, I did not receive a thank you or questionnaire email. Children's food tastes bad. retort? Children almost never eat. There is nothing special about adult cuisine, and it is commonplace. It felt like a glimpse of the decline of the ryokan industry on the Izu Peninsula. Can I put this in the luxury ryokan category? The guest room open-air bath is full of people on the opposite bank until night. (What are you doing?) So I can't open the bathroom window. The check-out is also surprisingly simple. All things considered, 14,000 yen is a reasonable price.

My wife retired, so we stayed here for one night in late August as a way to thank her and to take a summer vacation. We stayed in a room with a semi-open-air bath on the fourth floor. We were blessed with good weather and could enjoy the magnificent view of Suruga Bay and the sacred Mt. Fuji from our room. We had dinner and breakfast in our room, so we were able to relax and unwind. We had contacted them in advance to celebrate my wife's retirement, and they prepared red rice for dinner. We were also grateful for the small plate of Mt. Fuji as a gift. We would like to return during the season when Mt. Fuji is covered in white snow.

I stayed here for the first time because I was attracted by the view of Suruga Bay and Mt. Fuji. During my stay, the view of Mt. Fuji was not as ideal as I had hoped, and I was only able to see the snow-capped peak rising above the clouds for a brief moment the morning after my stay, but it was such a satisfying stay that I didn't think that was a problem at all. Even though I couldn't see Mt. Fuji, the views from the room, the half open-air bath in the room, and the large communal bath were wonderful, and the 12-tatami Japanese-Western room itself, as well as the washing area and bathtub in the half open-air bath, were spacious and very comfortable. The furnishings and equipment were of a good quality and the food was excellent in both quality and quantity, and even the plates, chopsticks, and coasters were tasteful, and above all, I was impressed by the high level of hospitality of the staff. Even the young staff members were sophisticated in their service, and their attentiveness and consideration were subtle, and I truly felt that I would like to visit this inn again. I think this is one of the most wonderful inns that I can confidently recommend to others.
