I stopped by on my way from Nagoya to Tokyo. Due to work, I checked in very late, but the staff kindly guided me around. I was able to use the hot springs privately, so I was very satisfied.

It was nice to see the effort put into making this a historic facility. The food was delicious. The hot springs were good, but it would have been better if the changing rooms had been designed with a little more thought.

This is the only hot spring inn in Numazu with a cloudy natural hot spring. There is only one hot spring (this one is large), and men and women alternate, with women only allowed in the evening. There are no curtains for men and women, and you have to hang up the signs for the men's and women's baths yourself, so people end up going in the wrong place. I could hear a male guest talking outside the bathroom, saying, "I have bad eyesight, so I can't see the signs, so I make mistakes," and I couldn't feel at ease while bathing. I wish they would hang the curtains for men and women properly. My wife said that she had hung up the men's sign in the morning, but when she was in the men's bath changing room, a woman tried to come in. There are no curtains for men and women, and guests hang up signs with small letters, so I think mistakes happen. In my case, I don't take a bath after drinking, so I went to the hot spring, but I ended up not being able to go in the one with the hot spring. When I talked to another female guest in the bath, she complained that "The men's and women's baths are mainly switched by men." I agree (and the women's bath is mainly not large). There are no open-air baths in either place. There is shampoo, body soap, and soap. There is no lotion. I recommend that you bring your own. The room was a Japanese-style room with a futon laid out. Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby. From the room, you can see the city of Numazu, and in the distance you can see the large observation sluice gate of Numazu, Viewo. There was a partition between the other groups for meals. For some reason, there was a smell of curry, and I heard that there were a lot of people from the training camp there. I made a reservation because it was fresh seafood from Suruga Bay. But I thought it was a normal dinner at a lodging. Overall, the amount was enough to eat. There were not many types of alcohol, and only one type of cold sake. The breakfast was well-balanced, and the dried mackerel in particular was delicious.
