Lovely hotel, reception and bar areas very nice with the reception areas having lovely marble flooring. Our room was lovely some aspects a little dated and the flooring was very sloped. Most definitely didn’t affect our time. Great parking, and in a brilliant location a short walk from shops, bars and restaurants. Would book the hotel again.

The Maid's Head Hotel is well located in the city centre. All the staff I spoke with were very attentive, friendly, and helpful. My room was decorated well and clean, with modern amenities and extras like a minifridge and bottled water. Wifi was strong. The water pressure is good with plenty of hot water. I didn't originally book breakfast at the hotel, but the next morning I decided to eat at the hotel and I am glad I did. There were plenty of options for a hot breakfast, as well as, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, and pasteries for a reasonable price.

We had a great stay and were very impressed with this hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful…BUT we booked an afternoon tea (for 4 of us) and what a disappointment.. We thought at £26 it was very expensive but as the hotel had been so good we thought it would be of a similar standard. Sandwiches (only 2 choices), were stodgy with mushy fillings, scones were undercooked, jam was runny, more like coulis, cakes were mushy and over sweet. Only good part was the small savouries which were tasty. No effort had been put in to make the tea special. Crockery was chunky china, the same as used for breakfast. Table was too small for 4 and food had to be put on a side table. Such a shame as we left the hotel feeling very disappointed whereas up until then we had been very pleased with our stay.
