Econo Lodge Naval Station Norfolk

Nice budget hotel near the Norfolk base. Staff was good and room was clean

The first disappointment of the trip is booking this motel expecting a pool and then being told by one of the staff that they don’t have a pool even though their website and trip advisor say they do. The room’s floor was dirty, the fridge in our room kept coming out of its corner because it was not only loose, but elevated in the back of the room which is something I have never seen before. When we checked in our room it had a faint fishy order and the tub/bathroom floors look like they haven’t been cleaned in months. This place also has terrible wifi service that chooses when to work and not work; same goes for the tv remote. The beds were terrible. I thought it was just me but when i asked my family how they slept, they all said what i was thinking; the beds were incredibly hard and uncomfortable. Finally, the lock on the door is broken with slightly rusted screws that we found on the floor. This place is not worth it for its price. $120 a night is outrageous when this is worth $50 a night.

The worst stay and the worst customer service . Agent that checked me payed no attention to my request for a first floor room even after I called to have it added to my reservation because I am temporarily disabled. I first arrived at the hotel a little early Ms agent from the Bahamas took pleasure in telling me that check in was 3 o'clock even though the hotel was not sold out the night before. I left came back 2 minutes after 3. Ms Bahama was assisting a woman of none color with smile and giggles. She never acknowledged my presence until the woman had left. As she was assisting me another woman of none color came in and right away was greeted with hello I'll be with you in a few minutes. She checked me in giving me a room as far in the back and on the second floor of the hotel. I asked was there any rooms on the first floor available she just scrounged her face up and said no. I did see some room available on the first floor on both sides of the hotel. I just decided to suffer through since it was only one night. The was not the best. Shower pressure was poor, bed was sunk in the middle and TV didn't work. I know I wouldn't stay there again and advise others to stay away
