Nikko Kanaya Hotel

It was hard to choose the menu, the lighting was too dim to read at the table, and the staff's explanations were unhelpful. We started eating at 7:40 and they brought it late, so we finished before 9 o'clock. I asked if it would be better to take a taxi to Toshogu Shrine, even though I could see that there were two old men with hunched backs accompanying us, but they said it would be better to walk because the traffic was too busy. However, it was uphill and in the end it was impossible to get to Toshogu Shrine. Even though they came right in front of it, the old men didn't get to see it. We couldn't catch a taxi on the way, and if someone had advised the old men with hunched backs that it would be difficult to get there without a taxi, it would have been a stupid trip to go all the way to Kansai and not be able to see Toshogu Shrine. I don't think I'll go to Nikko again, but it was a trip that left me with unpleasant memories. I guess they're just resting on their laurels at this old hotel.

Everything was perfect, but it was a shame that they didn't show us the large communal bath. The previous review was a misunderstanding on the part of Kinugawa Onsen Park Hotel.

I finally arrived at the coveted Kanaya Hotel! It's a classic hotel with a sense of history. The room felt old, but it was clean, including the bathroom. And the breakfast and dinner were really delicious. Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Nikko Station are both within walking distance, so it was a blink of an eye when I walked and shopped. When I checked in around 5pm, they were just doing a hotel tour, so I joined halfway through. I enjoyed hearing about the hotel's history. I'd definitely like to visit again.

The hotel's food and beverages are good, and the transportation is convenient. It's right next to the Shenqiao Bridge. The house is relatively old.

Rich history and convenient location.

It's a historic hotel with a nice atmosphere. However, perhaps due to a lack of staff or efficient management, the service density was low and the aging of the facilities was noticeable. ・Perhaps they couldn't secure employees, so breakfast started late at 7:30. As a result, customers were concentrated in a short period of time, and the following points were not met satisfactorily. ・Even when I ordered coffee at breakfast, it took a long time to bring it, perhaps because it was a different person. I had to ask three times before it finally came. The waiters and waitresses were all busy, and even when I tried to call them, they wouldn't make eye contact with the customers. ・*The service was inconsistent, with some tables having ketchup for cooking and others not. ・If you stay for more than two nights, cleaning and replenishment of amenities are generally not provided. (They will do it if you ask.) ・The window in the room was rusty and wouldn't open. The emergency exit was also rusty and could only be opened with a man's considerable strength. ・Perhaps it was a cheap room, but the view from the window was not good.・The Craft Lounge was closed, but I think it would be fine if it was open during peak seasons. When facilities are closed, the inside of the building looks deserted, like a shopping street with shuttered shops.
