Minshuku Okajin

A traditional Japanese-style B&B by Lake Chuzenji. It is a bit old but quite clean. The room is large and there is a heater. However, due to safety considerations, it is stipulated that it cannot be turned on while sleeping. When I get up, it is only 10 degrees indoors (outdoors are below zero). Quite cold. The bathroom and toilet are shared by everyone and are not available in the room. Because there was nothing to eat nearby, we ordered dinner and breakfast. The old lady was very good at cooking and the meals were sumptuous. Both dinner and breakfast were very filling.

Grandpa and grandma are very old, breakfast and dinner are good. The hotel is right by the Chuzenji Lake, you can see the lake from the room, you can walk to see the old British and Italian ambassadors' villas, it's also nice to visit the Natural History Museum in Nikko, you can look out over Mt. Nantai by the lake.

In a word, it feels like being at grandma's house. Grandpa and grandma are very kind and friendly. They will not disturb you except to tell you that dinner is ready and to come down to eat. Everything in the room is self-service, with clean tatami, necessary heating stove, and public baths for men and women. Most importantly, every meal is carefully prepared, with cold and hot dishes, fish, meat, vegetarian, and small hot pot, which is perfect for a drink after a day of playing outside.
