We recently stayed at the Grimaldi Hotel in Nice, which is marketed as a 4-star hotel, but unfortunately, our experience did not match that rating. While the hotel has some historical charm, it feels more like a 2 star property in terms of comfort and service. The room was quite small, especially considering the high price, and the bathroom was extremely cramped. We also experienced a strong unpleasant smell in the room that made the stay less comfortable. Street noise was a major issue, particularly at night and early in the morning, making it hard to get a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was very limited with few options definitely not what we expected from a 4 star hotel. It felt mediocre at best. On a positive note, the location is excellent. The hotel is right in the heart of Nice, close to great shops, restaurants, the Old Town, and several major landmarks, which made exploring the city very convenient and the reception staff were very welcoming and gave us tips on where to eat which was fruitful.
