The experience was wholly unacceptable from start to finish and fell far below the standard any guest should be expected to tolerate. To begin with, the room we were initially given had no functioning air conditioning, making it unbearably warm. Compounding the issue, the windows could not be opened, meaning there was absolutely no way to ventilate the space. The only alternative provided was a fan that was not only inadequate but also covered in dust, circulating stale and dirty air throughout the room. It was, quite literally, cooler in the corridor than in our assigned room. As a result, we endured two extremely uncomfortable nights with virtually no sleep. Only after repeated complaints were we moved to a different room — a Premier Plus room with a sea view. We were explicitly told this was the only room available and not an upgrade, yet this has since been used to justify refusing further compensation beyond the initial two-night refund. This is entirely unacceptable. The final two nights of our stay were offered with no goodwill or consideration despite the significant inconvenience, distress, and discomfort we had already endured. Furthermore, the conduct of your staff was appalling. From the moment we arrived, they were dismissive, unhelpful, and at times blatantly rude. There was a clear lack of willingness to assist or even acknowledge our concerns in a professional manner. I find it completely unreasonable that only a partial refund was offered. Based on this stay, I will not be recommending your hotel to others.

The room was exceptional, extremely well appointed and with a sea view. The restaurant meals from breakfast to dinner were well cooked and presented. The personnel were all welcoming and attentive from the Director to the well-trained staff in all situations. We enjoyed out stay and thoroughly recommend the hotel as value for money

When booking, we paid extra for early access the room at 11am because we knew that following a 6+ hour drive, we wanted to get a shower, get changed, have a coffee and maybe a snooze. We arrived at the hotel just before 11am; however, we were told the room would not be ready until 1pm, so we had to go for a walk for a couple of hours. We felt hot, sticky and dirty and as I was wearing long trousers, I felt ill with the high temperature. We were only in Newquay for 24 hours - it is 55 years since I was there, and it completely ruined our short stay. The staff at check-in were lovely and friendly and very helpful (sorry I didn't get the names). When querying the fact that we could not have the room until 1pm, we were told that the 'terms and conditions' specify that a 11am access may not be possible, but I had not seen this when making the booking. We were also told that as people do not have to check out of the room until 12 noon, generally the early check in is not available, because the rooms are still in use! We'd booked a 'premier plus' room, the room was the same as all the other Premier Inns we've been in, and the extras appear to be a chair and stool, 2 bottles of water in the fridge, 2 very tiny (but very lovely) bars of chocolate, and access to the better WiFi ... I think that was it! Maybe it included the sea-view too, I'm not sure. So we had a nice sea-view from the room, though of course there's no balcony - but the problem is that the windows do not open at all! The weather has been incredibly hot, so the room was really hot and stuffy. The minimum temperature for the air conditioning is 19 degrees, so it did not come on - we could barely breathe during the night and both of us coughed all through the night because of the lack of air. Reporting this at 6.30am I was told by the unhelpful guy on reception that I should've gone down to reception and asked for a fan, making it sound as though it was my fault. Yet no-one had told us this was an option when we checked in, and in any case, why was it not already in the room with the weather being so very hot? The guy on reception also said that the sealed windows were for 'safety reasons', yet every other building along the seafront had opening windows. Parking is £15 a night, a bit excessive really . The short story is that we paid for something that we did not get ie early access to the room and hardly slept because of not being able to open the window.

From arrival staff were so welcoming. Rachel and Peter on check in were so friendly and helpful what a start. Had a few drinks served by Danny and I think a French man from the accent. Breakfast served by I believe Keira so welcoming and would stop smiling. Room was comfy and freshly clean. Would recommend without hesitation and will be back.
