The Glendeveor

A well-priced convenient stopover location prior to carching a Newquay plane. Very friendly check-in with John. Small but clean room with kettle and en suite. car park at rear. Building not attractive and access to room was up two flights of very narrow stairs (no lift). No breakfast before 8 am. Communal Kitchan area and living room with fridge,ice and billiard table.

Great place to stay, close to town, restaurants, and train station. Great communication leading up to stay. Ample parking, warm welcome from host, explained routines, tour of onsite amenities, and very clean accommodation. Comfortable, spacious bed, great view (room 25) enjoyable stay, have enquired for next year!

We only stayed here for one night. The hotel itself was very dated and dreary but the rooms were clean and functional. It was very quiet in our room and we had a great view of the ocean (we booked a small double room with sea view). Lots of stairs to climb so not ideal with luggage so I think we would have struggled if we stayed here for more than one night as it was really tiring going up and down. You could however, tell the staff worked really hard so kudos to them for keeping the place running so well. The road wasnt great with derelict buildings around but thats not the hotel's fault. The location to town and the sea front was excellent, a two minute walk so that was great. Breakfast was "free" but it wasnt very good. Mostly cereals with not many hot options but the worst thing was the breakfast area. Very dark and dreary and so quiet you could hear other people chew. I would recommend the hotel put brighter lights in the area and perhaps some classical music or jazz in the background. It kind of felt like a dr's waiting room. You were scared to speak. Like I said great staff and clean rooms so generally good but they could do some more to make the hotel less dreary by fixing some of the dark decor and that awful breakfast room.

I rarely write reviews but the Glendeveor deserved one. I dropped my mum here who is staying for a week & we had such a warm welcome, nothing would seem to be too much trouble. helped make sure she knew how the 24 hour access worked, showed us where breakfast would be & when the door is open then breakfast is ready & to just help yourself to anything. There is a kitchen/food prep area for guests to use which has an honesty fridge to store own food also has a microwave, kettle & plates etc all were very clean. there is a guest lounge with pool table & darts, can use this room to eat and socialize or just relax its not a bar but you can bring in your own drinks & own food and just keep the place clean and tidy, respect. so so friendly & very happy to receive guests and make everyone welcome. the room is perfect, very clean great views and is exactly what she was looking for. This really is an amazing place in the heart of Newquay close to shops, bars, beaches and everything else. Would definitely book to come back.

We had a great stay here for 2 nights over the Easter Weekend. The hotel`s location is good and just a short downhill walk to all the bars, restaurants and sea front. The hotel is a little dated and I should imagine in it`s day it would have been one of the better hotels in the area, however, they have a large bar area with a pool table but they have no bar. You can use this room and bring your own drinks so if you want that then it`s great. There is also a kitchen area with a fridge and kettle etc that you can use also. We didn`t use either but thought it was a good idea. Our room was only small but it was clean, the shower was okay. The best thing was the bed, it was really comfy. The breakfast was good with a few hot items, plenty of cereal and bread for toast/teas and coffees. All in all we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again.
