Quaint and clean place in the heart of downtown. Although it is in the center of restaurants and shops, you don't hear the noise at night. We booked a room with a semi-private balcony and would've enjoyed it if the weather were warmer, but it was still nice to have. Comfortable beds and a decent breakfast assortment were also a plus. We would stay here again.

We stayed at Admiral Fitzroy for one night. We really appreciated the free parking and perfect location on Thames St. Our room was clean - the bathroom felt pristine. The bed was comfortable. We did have to call for help pretty late - around 10pm - when we were getting ready for bed and found we were unable to lock any of the windows on the parking lot side of our first floor room. Staff members arrived minutes later and helped us secure all of the windows so we could sleep soundly knowing we were safe. Overall, our stay was wonderful and we would absolutely book another stay here.

Having free parking in downtown Newport was great. I felt the room itself was clean and the staff was friendly. I do think this hotel needs some renovating. I understand that it is an older (age and style) hotel but it looks tired. It needs a paint job on the inside. There are old fashioned murals of flowers and garland but then some strange fake patina on top that just makes it look old and not in a charming way. The breakfast served was fine but the room itself had a lot of things on the walls that were dusty. Walls were patched over the paintings. Great location but for the same price we could have had a more modern hotel.

We stayed here in the winter. It was very convenient to everything. The free parking is such a plus. A wonderful continental breakfast in a sunny cozy breakfast area. Our room was very comfortable. Bathroom was appointed nicely. We enjoyed the old world charm!

So many little touches that made this inn somewhere I will book again! Parking in the back of the inn, and cookies and tea in the lobby. We stayed in room 6, which was very spacious, but the heat did not work, so it was on the warm side. There was a double bed and a trundle bed with extra comforters and soft pillows for added comfort. The room and bathroom were clean with amenities like tea and make-up towelettes. My favorite part of our stay was the European-style breakfast spread with meats, cheeses, juice, coffee, bagels, cakes, cereal, yogurt, and a variety of jams.
