Melville House Newport

SCAM SCAM SCAM, was charged $289.00 Service fee, couldn't cancel, no phone number to call. DO NOT STAY Here. Tried calling the inn next store, TOTAL SCAM I thought I was booking through Bookings, but it wasn't, called the Newport Police and am out about $900.00

If you were looking for a quiet night sleep, this is not the property to rent Between the creaking floors and the paper thin walls you can hear every conversation that every guest has for as long as they decide to stay up late at night and talk on the phone, some using a speaker phone so you can have the privilege of following both sides of the conversation There is no observed quiet time ….manager should perhaps post a sign in the hallways that says to respect your neighbor and that after 10 PM please be considerate of your neighbors Instead; groups of people will rent different rooms and then run back-and-forth between them and also talk loudly at night. They have also been visited by the police to attempt to resolve conflicts between guests trying to sleep and guests looking to stay awake after 11 PM on weekdays Spend the extra money for a better-rated accommodation

The staff/owner was wonderful and extremely considerate. I was running the Rhode Ra es Marathon in Newport and he greeted me with 2 bananas, arranged for an early breakfast and late checkout. All in all, great location and attention! I would definitely come back!

We stayed one night on Oct 30, 2021. Were were greeted by Otillia who made us feel at home instantly. She was very helpful and welcoming. The location is close to great restaurants and only a mile away from the Cliff Walk. We will stay here again when we visit Newport.

I booked this place at 3pm. In the afternoon for my husband while he was out in storm. I decided to meet him there. Upon my arrival two hours later, I was Shown the room and it was terrible. Small and dirty. They tried to up sale me to another room. Same thing a little bigger but still dirty. I said I don't want to stay here and I would like my money back. She told me no. This is non refundable. 😮 Hopefully I can cancel through my credit card. Do not go here.
