The room was in a small separated building literally in the parking lot, didn’t expect that. But inside is cozy and location is good.

Mediocre food that we waited sometime for. Child’s fish goujons were dry and unpalatable; sea bass was overcooked and the sunshine salad was not as described on the menu: it was missing the brown rice and the kale. Tasted nice but when the staff kitchen member came to check he remonstrated that everything was fine and it wasn’t his fault as it came preprepared and that all the ingredients were there. He was brusque and offhand, totally unnecessary attitude. The waiting staff were actually embarrassed and apologised for his manner. Won’t be going there again.

I had a one night stop over and stayed in the Pom. It’s a beautiful old building and had a lot of character but the minute I walked In the room I was blown away. It was fabulous. A little lounge with an absolute enormous bed that I could comfortably sleep sideways. The room was clean beautifully decorated and I treated myself to a relaxing bath after my long day.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were friendly, attentive & sociable. They answered all our questions & spent time chatting, making us really comfortable. The room was outstanding, the food was excellent & the staff excellent.

Great location with free parking. Lovely big room with massive bed. We stayed for 2 nights as we were going to the races. We had breakfast both mornings which was very nice and really tasty. Staff we very helpful and friendly. We will definitely return.

Whole building is on a bit of slant which makes moving around your room interesting.
Restaurant food was not good. Beer was warm. Hamburger was tasteless. Pancakes were hard to cut.

I was very nervous because it was my first overseas trip in a long time, but the staff were very kind and treated me and my son well. I stayed here to go to Highclere Castle, and they arranged a taxi for us, which was very helpful. I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit Newbury. Thank you very much.
