We first visited this lovely village pub/restaurant over 10 years ago and since then it's had a major refurb - amazing walled garden (great for the kids to play in), light-filled atrium dining room and really lovely private dining room, which is were we were for a family celebration. The staff couldn't have been more helpful - weaving through small children and serving delicious food and drinks. We decided to stay in a garden room - so pleased we did! Lovely, large room with sparkling bathroom and really good shower. Crisp, white bedlinen and a comfortable bed made for a great night's sleep. Nothing nicer than pottering out of the bedroom in the morning, with a cup of coffee, to sit in the charming, private walled garden. Thank you so much for creating such a memorable visit - we will be back!

Great location at the centre of the village and superb building tastefully extended to incorporate excellent indoor and outdoor eating spaces. Really good food and great breakfast and helpful staff. Compact but comfortable well appointed bedroom. Would definitely go back.

The room was really spacious and there was a lovely view from the bathroom over the pub garden. There was a good coffee machine in the room and lovely toiletries provided. The breakfast was fab and it was a very peaceful night's sleep. I would love to stay here again. The village is so beautiful.

We were recued by the wonderful and professional staff at The Royal Oak and its sister The Pot Kiln. The former we know well of old but it was full, so we decided to try the latter. Unfortunately we arrived to find that our elderly labrador would have to climb steep external steps. Not possible. Our family celebration looked doomed, with no choice but to drive all the way back to Kent. Miraculously, and with minimum fuss, two rooms were found for us after all at The Royal Oak and our family weekend was saved.

The Royal Oak in Yattendon is an absolute gem! The rooms are beautifully designed, spacious, and incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful stay. The food is simply outstanding-expertly crafted dishes made with fresh, local ingredients, served in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service is top-notch, with friendly staff who go above and beyond. A perfect countryside escape with exceptional dining! I will be back soon!

Everything about our stay was great. The staff were helpful and polite, checkin/out was easy. The room was spacious, clean, warm and welcoming. Great decoration. The bathroom was brilliant, a great shower, big, soft fluffy towels, we loved the Bramley toiletries. Breakfast: good choice menu, promptly served, well cooked and presented, very tasty. We were well looked after. We hope to stay there again.

I had a truly wonderful stay at the Royal Oak. From the warm and friendly welcome to the beautifully decorated, spacious room, everything exceeded my expectations. The room had lovely amenities and although it was at the front of the hotel, it was surprisingly quiet. The bed and linen were incredibly comfortable, and the room itself was spotless. They had a great choice of breakfasts, which was included in the rate. Overall, I highly recommend the Royal Oak and had a wonderful stay - excellent value for money.

Dinned as a family on a cold wet Saturday. Service was good and attentive. However, food was super disappointing, with so much competition locally we had hoped that the food would live up to the location. Food was under seasoned, unimaginative, and lacked basic cooking skills. Bruschetta was toasted bread, with a thin spread of avocado and cherry tomatoes cut in half. Fish and chips, the batter was super thick and chips were hard. It’s a real shame as this could be a go to place.
