Lovely hotel with sauna , steam, pool and jacuzzi. Great for an overnight stay and if it's not too busy, are welcome to use the facilities further, after checkout. Friendly staff and the breakfast is good. Price can vary but I had a great deal . Second time and will return again.

Fabulous place! For the price point I was concerned this would be disappointing but it was the complete opposite and I'd happily recommend it to anyone. Absolutely perfect for our purposes, close to Newbury for dinner and exploring, and a great place to go back to at night (the £15 cost of a cab was well within our budget). Breakfast was very tasty and organised with a well stocked selection and nice atmosphere. We used the pool and sauna in the morning after checkout which was clean and very welcoming. My ONLY gripe was that check-in was a little rushed and felt a little like a conveyor belt, we had been stuck in traffic and a warmer welcome would have been appreciated. Overall though, a great experience. Well done to the whole team!

This is NOT a 4* hotel, its barely a 2*. The service is poor due to low staffing numbers and the sheer arrogant attitude of srveral of the male staff who were rude and unhelpful. During my stay, the lift wasn't working and noone on reception offered to help with bags. I saw elderly people struggling. The jacuzzi was closed 'because someone had got in the sandy feet' so it was closed Fri to Sun, so clearly they have no maintenance team. The poolside was so slippery, one of my friends slipped and fell, fortunately without causing a serious injury (and reported it, but wasnt offered first aid). Another friend subsequently the hotel to Environmental Health, who visited immediately, due to the unsafe state of the pool, especially the steps in / out. The only redeeming factor was their lovely therapist. I had an excellent massage in the treatment rooms, by a therapist who is a Reiki Master. It needs investment in health and safety and ALL the staff need customer service training.

From check-in, the Regency Park failed to fulfil expectations. We were part of a wedding party that had booked many rooms on the weekend we were there (the hotel had agreed a special rate for guests via the wedding website). When I arrived at check in, holding two wedding outfits, there was no smile, no "are you ok there?", no "how was your journey". The basics of being on the front desk. I was told when I asked whether our room was ready that it wasn't, absolutely fine, but delivered with no smile or any niceties. I then asked if I could pay for my room in the meantime. She asked for my card and then sullenly said "it's been declined" as if I were some kind of criminal. Not "oh, I'm sorry, it's not gone through, let me try again". When she put my (working) card through she didn't confirm how much the cost was. I asked when the room might be ready to get a curt "it's a 24 hour check in". I had to check in when we returned from the wedding, along with around 20 other wedding guests. Clearly staff hadn't considered that, having made no effort to support early check-ins, there would probably need to be more than one unbriefed and flustered person at front desk at 1am to manage this. We were tired and had to queue for a significant period. Furthermore, many guests who had stayed the previous night had come back to find their room key cards weren't working, which seemed to be an oversight on the part of the day shift. When we got to our room it was horrendously hot. There were two fans, but these were noisy and bargain-basement quality. We were in a heat wave and it made for an incredibly difficult night's sleep. The 'welcome' folder said that aircon was only available in the "deluxe" rooms. Since when was an amenity that most Premier Inns offer classed as deluxe? We were also not advised at the time of booking that our room would not have aircon. Had this been made clear I would have ensured we were allocated a deluxe room. The window was broken and barely openable and the twin beds uncomfortable. There were no plug points near our beds to charge phones - something that should be standard. Wallpaper was peeling. The bathroom tap water came out very fast and splashed all over me. The tiled floor was dangerously slippery when getting out of the shower, with no warning signs, and the bathroom mat was too small to mitigate this. The lifts were out of service, and front desk did not advise us of this on arrival, being too concerned to treat me like some kind of inconvenience. The hotel was entirely inaccessible for anyone with mobility issues. On the plus, I paid for breakfast when I arrived and the service was prompt and efficient. I did not have chance to make use of my included breakfast on the Monday as service finished at 9am. Appreciate 7am-9am on weekdays will be standard for business guests, but I wonder on occasions where wedding parties are being hosted whether the service could be extended to 10am? The rooms at least were clean. So aw

We recently stayed at this hotel for four nights. While the property itself appeared to be relatively quiet in terms of occupancy, our final night (1 June 2025) was unfortunately marked by a highly disruptive experience that significantly impacted our stay. On that evening, a large and very loud party was held directly beneath our room. We were not given any advance notice about this event, nor were we warned about the noise levels that would accompany it. Given the many vacant rooms in the hotel, it’s disappointing that more thoughtful room allocation was not considered to ensure guest comfort. At 9:00 PM, I raised a concern with the night manager about the excessive noise. I was assured it would end within 30 minutes. However, not only did the disturbance continue—it actually worsened—and persisted until approximately 12:30 AM. When I returned to the front desk at 11:00 PM, I was informed that the party had been booked until midnight and that “nothing could be done.” The lack of clear communication and unwillingness to find a timely resolution was frustrating, especially as we were trying to rest ahead of a long-haul flight home to Australia. What made matters worse was the lack of follow-up the next morning. I was told the operations manager would be available at 8:30 AM to discuss the issue, but when I returned to reception at that time, I was told the manager would not be in until later in the day—well after our departure. Again, we were told “nothing could be done,” which reflected a broader pattern of unaccountability and indifference throughout the experience. In addition, the facilities showed signs of neglect: the carpet outside the functioning lift was soaking wet for the duration of our stay, and the pool roof had a noticeable hole, giving the impression that maintenance is not a current priority. Overall, while the hotel may offer decent amenities on paper, our experience suggests a serious lapse in guest service, communication, and operational management. I hope future guests are treated with more care and foresight, especially in situations that are entirely preventable.
