I've traveled the world, from Europe to Asia, to South America and all over the U.S. and this was easily the worst hotel experience of my life. Where to start? The bed was soft but sagged deeply in the middle. The water pressure in the shower was non-existent. They tried to move me but the second room was worse. There are drunk people fighting in the hallways almost every night. And the week was capped off by an insanely loud party in the event space immediately beneath my room that sounded like it was in my room. The entire room shook for hours. Hotel management threw their hands up like it was out of their control: "It's not our event." But it's on your hotel! Unbelievable. They did eventually comp me for the last night. But I would have preferred some quiet. No restaurant. No coffee in the room. They do offer free ear plugs at the front desk hahahahaha. In short, this is a great example of the new New York as best exemplified by all the new but cheap construction in neighborhoods in Williamsburg: It's all style over substance. The hotel looks cool but the basics are broken. As a former resident of Manhattan and Brooklyn it makes me really sad.

The Cachet Boutique NYC (formerly known as “The Out”, 2016 rebranded as Cachet Boutique) is characterized by its very convenient location (about 10 minutes' walk from Port Authority Bus Terminal=Subway 42nd Street+Times Square, about 15 minutes from most Broadway theaters) in the trendy neighborhood of HellsKitchen (numerous restaurants and bars). A bus station (Crosstown 42nd Street line is about 150m away! The different types of rooms (with adjustable AC, very noisy but nobody cares in NYC) are spacious and very clean by New York standards. The bathroom includes a shower (walk in), toilet and vanity with shelf and drawer (incl. magnifying mirror, hair dryer). The rooms are equipped with a small fridge and a complimentary safe! The Boutique hotel is build on three floors only and the room are situated around different courts. The rooms are mostly accessible through aisles surrounding these courts! the concept is very interesting and popular with all age of customers! Another highlight is the staff: despite other reviews here I always experienced the whole staff here do be very friendly and outstanding helpful! And don’t forget: the general situation of missing human sources after Covid is noticeable all over New York (I could see dozens of signs all over the city “now hiring”). On behalf of the entire staff let me name Sunny, Liz and Marc from the reception team and thank them for doing an outstanding job . And last but not least: the lady who was cleaning my room made my stay a perfect one as well! My first stay at this hotel was in 2012 and since then I went back every year - with an interruption of 3 years (due to the travel restrictions for Europeans)! And I will go on as long as I am traveling to New York cause it’s like coming home!

*Dia da greve dos terceirizados do terminal de carga do aeroporto de Guarulhos em Setembro de 2023.* No dia 04/10/23 tínhamos um voo com origem em Campo Grande partida as 18:40 com destino GUARULHOS/SP pela companhia LATAM voo LA4723 . Nós fomos informados no portão de embarque as 18:40 que o voo sofreria atraso de 2 horas. Após longa espera, enfim fomos embarcamos atrasados e perdemos a nossa conexão em Guarulhos com destino ao aeroporto JFK em NY. Éramos na ocasião um grupo familiar de 3 passageiros: 1 casal sendo a esposa gestante de 4 meses e bebê de 1 ano e 11 meses no colo. Em determinado momento, nos encontrávamos em Guarulhos sem as bagagens despachadas em CGR pois a companhia só entregaria no destino final. A empresa responsável Latam não tinha disponível voo naquele mesmo dia e nos avisou que somente na sexta dia 06/10/23 ( dois dias após a chegada em SP) as 23:00 horas haveria voo pra NY. Ficamos horas em uma fila enorme para conseguir voucher de hospedagem/ alimentação/ transporte e ao chegar nossa vez ( de fato que não havia fila preferencial) e com filho menor, mais a esposa gestante, tivemos que aguardar a nossa vez. Fomos atendidos as 02:00 da manhã porém a Cia Latam só tinha disponibilidade de hotel em Mogi das Cruzes e Santos …o que nos fez recusar pela distância e horário que já nos encontrávamos naquela madrugada. Decidimos por conta própria e conforto da família arcar com as despesas de táxi e hotel, comida e roupas em São Paulo até o dia do embarque. Dois dias após c chegar em SP, finalmente, dia 06/10 , nós embarcamos e antes fomos obter informações para ter certeza que encontraríamos nossas malas em NY. Nos informaram que nossas malas se encontravam na “gaiola”. Fato que trouxe certo alívio mas na realidade não foi bem assim…. Chegando em NY ficamos mais 2 h no aeroporto tentando localizar nossas malas e fomos orientados a preencher formulários pois a mala não se encontrava na esteira do desembarque. Ela havia ficado em Guarulhos! *Fomos ao hotel Cachet Boutique em Hell s Kitchen e, para nossa surpresa, a reserva não se encontrava ativada , isso devido aos 2 dias de atraso na chegada aos EUA. Após 2h de muita insistência com a recepcionista lhe foi pedido contato com o gerente do hotel. Por ela iríamos para rua ou qualquer lugar…. A insensibilidade da atendente do hotel foi total, que ignorou todo périplo de aeroportos, gestante com bebê de colo, etc, enfim, gerente retornou a ligação e foi possível nos acomodar por um período de apenas 4 dias ( e não o contratado de 7 dias) pois o hotel iria receber um evento e precisaríamos ser transferidos para outro hotel até o fim da nossa estadia*. Chegada no hotel Cachet Boutique 06/10/23 e das malas no dia 07/10/23. Durante o primeiro dia de estadia em NYC achamos por bem comprar roupas devido a incerteza de quando haveríamos a bagagem despachada inicialmente em Campo Grande em 04/10/23. Di boutique è rimasta la hall. Le camere sono uno sfracello. Pulizie assenti da un bel po’ di tempo, letti rifatti alla meglio e nemmeno tutti i giorni. Il primo giorno avevamo terminato il bagnoschiuma, mai cambiato. La climatizzazione è affidata ad un vecchio “pinguino” a tubo che non fa chiudere le tendine e quindi, chiunque passa fuori, vede in camera. Finestre assenti se non per una, non apribile, che da proprio sul ballatoio dove passano tutti gli ospiti. Insonorizzazione completamente assente. Per finire, hanno cancellato la prenotazione una notte prima della nostra partenza, mettendoci letteralmente per strada e obbligandoci a riprenotare da soli in altra struttura. Mai visto di peggio.

Just to let everyone know they are closing, I got an email yesterday. I picked them because it was 6 blocks from Javits. Supposedly they made the decision out of nowhere. Don't let them switch you to another hotel, they will put you in the middle of loud times Square

Do not book this hotel. They will cancel your booking if they realise they can get more. Made a booking a year in advance, when close to the booking date and all hotel rates in the area climbing the hotel cancelled our booking. Be warned and book with a reputable company that honours reservations.

First the good news. Service is excellent and the people personable and eager to make stay enjoyable. Location close to theatre district was central and therefore walkable to many sites we had planned to see. It was also a clean, modern oasis in the detritus that is NYC.The room was large, clean and secure. My complaints: although our room was ready, there was an additional $65 early check-in charge. I believe this should be waived - at least for seniors- as we obviously were. Also, there were no chairs in the room; just a stool. No ice machines on any floor, so you need to order, wait and tip for this common amenity.

The staff we encountered at this hotel were very friendly and helpful, especially in dealing with our request to change room and amend the duration of our stay. The room change was necessitated due to a very, very loud free standing A/C unit. The decor in both the rooms we stayed in showed signs of high occupancy - and in one of them the fluorescent bathroom light fitting did not work. However, both rooms were clean and the towels and bed linen were of decent quality. With some money spent on it, this hotel would easily deserve four stars and possibly more.
