Very small but clean room. There's also a safe in the room, which isn't always a given in the US. It's about a 6-7 minute walk from Grand Central. Times Square is only a 20-minute walk, or even a shorter ride by public transport. The hotel has a rooftop bar, offers the opportunity to work out in a nearby gym, and even has a pool room. Free coffee is provided in the morning. Overall, I highly recommend it!

The property exceeded expectations! The room was very nice and the bathroom had a very respectable set of amenities.

**Pros:** 1. **Excellent Location:** Located in Midtown East, just a 5-7 minute walk from Grand Central Station, the subway is super convenient, and the area is filled with restaurants and drinks. It's also safe. 2. **Cool Design & Great Atmosphere:** The industrial-style common areas are trendy and perfect for taking photos and socializing. The **influence-worthy rooftop bar** (Salon de Ning) offers stunning night views and a lively atmosphere. 3. **Clean and Comfortable:** The bedding was excellent and the sleep was comfortable. The shared bathrooms were **very clean** (multiple private rooms on each floor). The amenities were small but smart (plenty of USB ports and clever storage). 4. **Excellent Service:** The front desk staff was young, friendly, and efficient. 5. **Great Value:** For a centrally located Manhattan location, the price is very competitive. **Cons:** 1. **Extremely Small Rooms:** The pods are very compact, making it difficult to unpack large suitcases, and the aisles are narrow. 2. **Shared Bathroom:** All pods use the shared bathroom on the floor (clean, but acceptable). 3. **Potentially noisy:** Hallway noises may be audible. **Music from the rooftop bar may be audible on lower floors/weekends** (earplugs provided). 4. **Low amenities:** No private bathroom, refrigerator, safe, or desk in the room. **Summary:** * **Suitable for:** Young, sociable backpackers/budgeteers on a budget who prioritize location and experience, are comfortable with small spaces and shared bathrooms, and are willing to socialize. Travelers who use the hotel as a place to sleep and a transportation hub. * **Not suitable for:** Travelers who require a large room/private bathroom/absolute quiet, have a lot of luggage, are noise-sensitive, or are traveling with children/elderly people. **In short:** A great value design hotel in the heart of New York City. Small rooms but a great location, a great atmosphere, and clean shared bathrooms. I originally booked a single room, but upon opening the door, I was stunned. It was barely enough to unfold a 24-inch suitcase; it was even smaller than I'd imagined. Fortunately, there was a private bathroom. The second night, even with the air conditioning off, it was quite noisy. After reporting this, the Chinese front desk representative sent someone to investigate and very kindly upgraded me to a double room. I was incredibly lucky. The double room was barely adequate. The room didn't come with water, but you could get it at the restaurant on the first floor. Free coffee was provided every morning. The view from the rooftop was amazing. It's a 7-minute walk from Central Station, right in the heart of Middletown, making it convenient for commuting. So, aside from the small size, there weren't any major issues.
