Had the most fantastic stay in August 2025 at the newly reopened beautiful property. 5 stars is not enough for our stay, the staff, the facilities, the dining, all were outstanding! Before arrival we were contacted by the concierge and they were kind enough to offer us some tips and make us reservations for a special birthday meal there. Upon arrival we were kindly greeted, shown to our beautiful room, all of which had a lovely welcome birthday amenity! Carson delivered our luggage and offered outstanding tips for our afternoon in central park. We also bumped into him on check out and he had asked us how the stay went. We couldn’t thank him enough, he’s an exemplary employee! We had a delicious lunch at the Lark, cocktails at Peacock Alley, and slept like babies while the city carried on below us. We already look forward to our return to the property and highly recommend it!

The Grand Old Lady has been closed since 2017 and is gradually reopening. We called for a dinner reservation and got one in the bar, and it turned out that we were escorted to the main dining room. (We think there was confusion between the two rooms, as the dining room didn't seem to know we were coming.) The experience: what you would expect with one of the great hotels in the world. A beautiful room, great service and fabulous food. To say anything more would be redundant. The dining areas are to the back, so you walk through the main lobby with the great mosaic, the big clock and Cole Porter's piano. It's a terrific experience, no matter how jaded you may be to NYC hospitality venues.

From the moment we arrived at the Waldorf Astoria New York, we felt truly welcomed. The property itself is stunning—modern elegance with a timeless feel. The dining experiences were excellent, from beautifully presented newly invented chicken salad, along with sliders and the famous Waldorf salad, a perfect breakfast (the eggs benedict was a standout). Every meal felt like a treat. Beyond the gorgeous surroundings, it was the staff that made our stay unforgettable. Mike, the concierge, went above and beyond to make sure every detail of our stay was seamless to celebrating our birthday and wedding anniversary. Nick and Akil at the front desk were outstanding—warm, attentive, and professional, making check-in and daily interactions effortless. Their hospitality set the tone for the entire experience. Between relaxing meals, time at the gym, and simply enjoying the elegant atmosphere, we left feeling both recharged and grateful. The Waldorf Astoria is more than a hotel—it’s a true experience of luxury and care. We can’t wait to return!

I visited WA New York with my family as part of my son's birthday present surprise trip. We were all super excited and waiting for this trip to New York, as it was our first trip to the US as a family. We travel a lot around the world as a family visiting different luxury resorts and hotels, as well as WA places in different locations. The hotel is renovated and really shines in its new suit, phenomenal interior, beautiful room decor and smells new. It has 3 different entrances, which can be a bit confusing in the beginning. Huge gym with everything one needs. We used mainly Park avenue and Lex avenue the most. Altogether we spent 5 nights here. The downside is the hotel service. The staff from the front desk to concierge team seems off and uninterested. Though, there are signs of effort to be there for you, unfortunately it doesn't suffice. It looks like you meet them every day like you didn't talk the previous day. I am afraid we felt like we were more of a burden to them, which is under expectations not only for WA, but mainly for any 3*+ hotel (any hotel at all shouldn't give you this feeling right?) Overall, the staff just feel like they know all the lines perfectly, but just don't stand up to the roles given. The communication feels cold, plastic and artificial, and eventually often leads to dead ends. The day we arrived was pouring rain, and the kids got all wet, their sneakers were soaking wet, so we asked for the laundry team to dry those out. Sadly, when the sneakers got back from the laundry, somehow they shrank in the machine, and got smaller for at least 1/2 of a number they were before. We realized that after 2 days of heavy walking and sightseeing, kids started limping, got blisters, and we bought new shoes for them, cause the old ones were useless. I wasn't expecting to get new shoes from the hotel, but after communicating this to the front desk, they offered bandages and visit to the doctors? That is at least insolent or hilarious, can't decide. "Personal concierge" needs more attention towards guests needs. After all, any small gesture at all for that main purpose of our trip, the birthday - would have been nice. But it didn't happen. All the mail communicated before the trip felt useless. I'd praise porters and front door guys being super friendly, nice and warm in everyday communication, both welcoming us and saying farewell. That's the bright side of the staff team for sure! Keep up the great work guys!

Popped into the Waldorf a day ago. The newly renovated interior is opulent. Open to the public we took a walk through. We also stopped in the lobby for a cocktail. Would have ordered desert as well but we were coming back from dinner. Ask for Melanie! She was an amazing server. This is definitely worth a stop!

A truly amazing experience. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, but the service is what makes the experience incredible. From the moment that we walked into the hotel, the staff went above and beyond any expectations that we could have had. Every single person that assisted us was truly kind, gracious, generous and strove to make our stay a memorable experience. A special shout out to Noah, the Front Office Manager, and Akua, who made our stay so wonderful and an experience we will never forget.

What INCREDIBLE service! In fact, this might actually be some of the best service I’ve encountered in any NYC hotel or North American hotel. I’ve tried many of the Waldorf’s competitors in NYC, and the newly-reopened grande dame Waldorf really really shines. Even though I was excited to check it out after the long closure and remodel, I was also a little apprehensive because the property might still be getting its feet wet. Well, well — let me tell you — the service 3 weeks into their reopening is as SMOOTH as GLASS. Not only does the property look incredibly stunning, the staff are so comfortable and gracious and you can tell they take pride at the fact that the Waldorf is back! Kudos to the responsive concierge team for arranging pre-arrival details, the superb and welcoming doormen, and a very accommodating in-room dining. The only quibbles I have are things that can easily be tinkered. My junior suite’s air con might need to be adjusted to turn on more readily (the room became a few degrees warmer than the setting), and a simple Waldorf shopping bag would have been helpful to have in the room. All in all, I couldn’t be more pleased, and I can’t wait for many, many more Waldorf NYC stays soon!
