SpringHill Suites New York Queens

The room itself is alright, beds are comfortable and it’s relatively clean - which is very rare. The housekeeping ladies and cleaners are nice, the reception staff is meh, not the most welcoming or helpful. Very stingy as well when it comes to giving us water, plus he refused to add my points to my Marriott Bonvoy account because I booked the room through Trip.com. And didn’t offer to help us when he saw us struggling with all our bags, there’s only one trolley that everybody shares in the hotel which is very strange, in other countries, someone helps with the bags and the trolley as soon as people arrive… No bathrobe, no slippers, which again is very strange for a hotel that belongs to the Marriott chain… but we noticed this happened throughout the entire country, so I guess the standards are extremely low in the US. The valet parking is extremely expensive and the hotel doesn’t offer any other options. So we used a website and booked a garage parking a few minutes away which was half the price and also had a valet. The area is actually not bad, people exaggerate when they say it’s not safe or it’s ugly, that’s not a Queens issue, that’s a US issue… :) so we enjoyed the multicultural neighbourhood and had no problems there, we felt safe and fine, plus it was a quick subway ride to the center. Breakfast is very basic, but the waiters are lovely and allowed me to take the breakfast upstairs to our room. Overall it was alright, still not worth the price though.

Amazing place, really stunning, all the staff were amazing, unfortunately the location is in “dangerous” area, it is close to metro station, it has police around, but you see a lot of gangsters in the streets, a lot of homeless too, it was crazy, but you CAN TOTALLY MANAGE TO GET THERE SAFE. My room view was amazing. Do not use google maps, because they tell you to go inside a condo, but those condos are for the gangsters, do not go inside, even the police do not go inside the condo. The breakfast was to die for. You need to get there early in the morning. I will be honest, I was not thinking that the reservation with Trip would work, but it worked PERFECTLY. This is the place for you to stay, I would stay there a thousand more times if it is available.

The hotel itself is okay, the room was very nice. Food was decent, just the canteen itself was quite small. The main issue is the location itself, even though it's close to the metro station, the area feel not safe, I wouldn't walk around after 9pm. But my experience was good.

My only complaint for this hotel was breakfast. The food was fine but the amount of people in a fairly small common area for breakfast was crazy. The lines were long. My daughter waited 30 minutes in a line to make a waffle.

Great location close to Manhattan. Overall the experience was good. Comfortable bed, good views and decent continental breakfast. Only thing I did not like was the shower. There was no tub or at least a barrier blocking the showering area off from the rest of the bathroom. After showering this created a wet mess.

Breakfast was great. Gym is average but nice.
