It costs nearly 2,000 yuan a night, which is a very low value for money... The antique-grade super thick quilt has a bit of musty smell, so I had to cover myself with my coat. There were tiny bugs running around on the walls, and the toilet made loud splashing noises from time to time! Almost didn't sleep all night@@
I will never stay overnight in Jiufen again.

The photos of the room looked nice, but there were a lot of ants inside, so it wasn't really a room I could stay in. If you don't mind small insects, I think it's a good value hotel for the price.

Decent and comfortable room in a very good location close to the main Walking Street, although the hotel is not very new and modern. Walking distance to the city's major attractions and hiking trails. Good option if you don't expect luxury. A little difficult to find and the hotel staff is not always available at the reception.

This hotel is located on a slope between two roads, and you must take stairs to reach it. Its location is actually very close to Jiufen Market, but you have to walk up a total of about 270 stairs and cross another road in the middle. It is recommended not to bring a lot of heavy luggage, and definitely not to visit in hot weather, it will be very painful! 
Hotels generally have complete facilities. There is a hot and cold water machine on one of the floors, and there is a kettle in the room for hot water.  The bath towels are relatively small, only one per person, some are a little yellowed, but they are clean. The entrance to the hotel is on the fifth floor of the top floor. Some shared spaces are on the fourth and fifth floors. The third floor is all rooms. The first and second floors are the Kite Museum, which is usually closed. There will be a guided tour led by the owner at 8pm. It should be in Mandarin only. You can check it when you check in! I think it is worth watching and learning more about kites. It is also very suitable for children to visit!

I am glad I booked this place despite reading the negative comments. The stairs to the Homestay is actually quite easy to find and is very close to Daitian Temple’s bus stop. The view was amazing. There are two sets of stairs that goes down, but one of them is steep. My brother struggled to carry his luggage up and down the steps, so I did it for him. I didn’t find the stairs that difficult even with luggage, but some people do; Anywhere in Juifen has stairs.
We got a room with a view of the ocean and the sea. I needed a retreat, so this was perfect for me. The best view that is within walking distance to the old street and public buses. Plus, the kite museum was huge and cool to see. I hope I get to stay there again.
