Nanjing Yuhuatai District Hotels

Had a fantastic stay, as I was here to celebrate my birthday. I tried calling twice beforehand but couldn't get through. Since I hadn't informed them it was my birthday and I'm not a Hyatt member, I didn't receive any special birthday amenities. Upon arrival, I was upgraded to a Le Residence Suite. The room was located on the second floor of the North Wing, at the very end of the corridor, making it a bit far from the elevator. The front desk explained that they were almost fully booked, so a room change wasn't feasible, which I understood. The 'Qing Yu An' cocktail at the lounge was excellent, and they also offered some hot food. Breakfast was incredibly rich, with many made-to-order items. For those from Northern China, the *doufunao* (savory tofu pudding) is a must-try, served with an authentic Northern-style savory broth. The freshly-prepared congee was also good, though I found it a bit too peppery. Overall, the value for money was outstanding, and I'll definitely be back.

While its proximity to 1701 is convenient for performances, the hotel's room rate feels quite steep. I have a significant complaint regarding the front desk service on that day. My food delivery arrived, but it wasn't promptly delivered to my room, ostensibly due to the delivery robot being unavailable. After waiting for 20 minutes, I went downstairs to retrieve it myself, only to find the front desk staff casually chatting and laughing. Despite both delivery robots being in the lobby, my order was simply left on a small table by the door and was never sent up. When I asked them directly, 'Why was my delivery just left there and not brought up?', the front desk staff remained silent, without even offering a single apology. This level of service certainly doesn't justify the room price.

The room was clean. The breakfast spread was very generous, offering a great mix of Chinese and Western options. They even had specialties like duck blood vermicelli soup and mini wontons, as well as yogurt and small cakes – truly something for everyone, whether adults, children, or seniors. The soundproofing is very good. The front desk lady told us that the window of the room is three layers of soundproof glass. The room on the side of the road is not noisy at all. The constant temperature shower is also very fast. The water head is also good. When I checked in, I also poured fruit tea. The service attitude is particularly good.

Have stayed at this hotel on several occasions in the past year and is an excellent hotel that provides high level of service consistently. Highly recommended.

Having had a fantastic experience at an Atour hotel in Shenzhen last year, and seeing positive reviews online, coupled with the fact that this hotel seemed relatively new, I decided to specifically choose the Atour near Nanjing South Station this time. I arrived late at night and knew they offered late-night supper service and had commercial LG washers/dryers. First, the location. It's quite close to the North Square of Nanjing South Station. You can reach it within a 3-minute walk after passing the traffic light under the overpass. The hotel next door is called Tianxi. Check-in was relatively quick, and the staff were quite friendly. I was assigned a room on the 4th floor, which I questioned, and they explained that family rooms are typically not on higher floors. Upon entering the room with my key card, I immediately noticed numerous stains on the floor, as if it hadn't been properly mopped. There was even a sticky little sticker still adhered to the floor. The overall impression was that the room wasn't clean at all. Next, I went to the 8th floor, hoping to enjoy some porridge, which is supposedly an Atour specialty. To my surprise, there were only two pots of porridge and a few steamed buns available. This was a significant downgrade compared to my experience at the Shenzhen Atour last year; I was extremely disappointed. In Shenzhen, staff would even prepare noodles upon request, whereas here, it was just those two solitary pots of porridge... Disappointed, I returned to my room and ordered takeout. Then my son noticed the TV had no sound. I called the front desk to report both the TV issue and the cleanliness problem. The staff member was quite helpful and immediately offered to switch our room. We moved to the 6th floor, and this room was noticeably much cleaner than the 4th-floor one. The TV worked, and there were even complimentary drinks in the fridge. However, the air conditioning fan was extremely noisy, even on the lowest setting. Overall, I found this experience quite mediocre. Thankfully, the staff's attitude was good. I hope they improve their management, as customer experience truly is paramount.

I read reviews before booking that mentioned subway noise. There was a faint hum, but even for a light sleeper like me, it didn't affect my sleep at all. Most importantly, the hotel's overall cleanliness was impeccable, and the front desk service was incredibly warm and welcoming. I noticed there weren't enough hangers in the room, so I called the front desk. They immediately arranged for a staff member to bring more to my room. Their efficiency was outstanding! Just a minor suggestion: I recommend changing the type of disposable toilet seat covers. All in all, I would definitely stay at this hotel again on my next trip to Nanjing. It offers excellent value for money.

Holiday Inn has the best location! I stayed in for a night and went to sleep super early, around 8. The night street market is in the vicinity, which is great if you're either a solo traveler or a foreigner who's unfamiliar speaking Chinese. Plus, the hotel was clean and quiet! Oh, I almost forgot to tell you! On the first floor of the connected building, there's a coffee shop called Lurkin' Coffee. You can get iced coffee there and start your morning with. Less than 5 mins to nanjing railway station. Via taxi.
