Nanjing Gulou District 5-star Hotels

Room was warm - even after setting the AirCon temperature to as low as 19 degrees, room temperature remained between 26-27 degrees. The safe also could not be used, even after calling for receptionists’ help. However, while service as a whole was inconsistent, some of the service staff was very detailed and followed up with our concerns during our trip.

Before arriving, I needed to arrange a bouquet of flowers to be ready when I arrived. Mr Leon Yu, Chief Concierge, facilitated the arrangement with first class customer experience not easily found in most 5 star hotels. Outcome was excellent. And Leon remains humble and service oriented. He is certainly a top talent that Shangri-la Group must retain as role model. On day of check in , Ms Gloria Zhang Front Office Manager met to greet me. Very welcoming and warm. They upgraded my room as I am a Golden Circle member. Again first class checkin experience Even the housekeeping staff and her supervisor (forgot their names) were very accommodating and ensures I get everything I needed. Compliments to them. All in, a wonderful experience staying at Nanjing Shangri La Hotel. M

The hotel looks a bit old and the rooms are not as nice as the lobby is, but the included gym and swimming facilities are top notch. Also the service was great. I had to leave a day earlier due to a conference and I could easily check out a day earlier. All in all really nice.

Delicious breakfast, attentive staff, business-like ambience, state of the art service. Location is ok. It's right next to the Pioneer Library, a very famous art library and is also within 30 minutes or so to other cool places like a water park, the Nanjing City Wall, Nanjing Eye (a bridge). Not many restaurant options nearby but the hotel foods is pretty good. There's a Japanese restaurant nearby and an Italian one called La Mia Casa is worth a visit. Very good hotel overall. No complaints except for costly dinner (148 RMB per person per buffet meal).

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The room was spotless and provided a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. Its location is incredibly convenient, making traveling around the area a breeze. One of the highlights of my visit was the breathtaking view of both the lake and the mountains. The staff were exceptionally friendly. And, most importantly, the breakfast was absolutely delicious.

We got a free rooms upgrade by the hotel as it’s our wedding anniversary trips!! Rooms are clean n tidy n comfortable. Spacious room too. Very iconic hotel building in Nanjing as well, metro is just within 2 mins walk from the hotel main entrance. Their room top bar is amazing at lvl 78! We stay at lvl 52 which is pretty cool with an amazing view! Will highly recommend this hotel

There was a comment about the hotel room lacking the outlets. After my recent stay, I totally agreed to that. There is only one charging outlet at the bedside and one USB charging. There's no charging station at the desk which I found very odd. How can people work on their laptop at the desk without a charging station. So, remember to bring your own charging outlet if you have multiple electric devices. The hotel room has very good soundproofing. There are reasonable amounts of food selections at the breakfast buffet. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. The subway station is at B1 floor in the same high rise building. The location is definitely very convenient.

I recently stayed at this hotel, which just opened in September 2024, and I was thoroughly impressed. Everything is brand new and fresh, living up to the standard Ascott style of elegance and comfort. The location is absolutely perfect for my needs, making it incredibly convenient for both work and leisure. On top of that, the hotel staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The modern design, pristine facilities, and warm service make this a top choice.

I absolutely loved my stay at Hilton! The location right on the river was so peaceful – waking up to the quiet sound of water was magical. My room was huge, spotless, and incredibly comfortable – the bed felt like a cloud! Breakfast was delicious with fresh, tasty options.

2 king size beds. Big suite with living room and dining table. Very good for a family of 4. Big plus is the free 24h laundry washer and dryer (detergent provided). Room amenities are well stocked. Highly recommended.
