I had no hot water on one of the nights I stayed at the hotel. The pillows were incredibly hard, terribly uncomfortable, and I had a very bad sleep. I arranged a safari tour to the Nairobi National Park, which was confirmed in two emails, but the travel desk forgot about it. They made me wait 1.5 hours for the driver as they informed him at the very last minute. What’s worse is that we paid in full for the tour, and when I got to the park, the driver had not received confirmation that the park fee had been paid, which the travel desk at the hotel was supposed to handle. In the end, we also spent about 30 minutes outside the park trying to resolve the payment issue. This experience was ludicrous, to say the least. The driver was very nice, but he was not at fault for what the people at the travel desk did; they are just not very organized at all. This is supposed to be a 5-star hotel, but the level of attention to detail, lack of organization, and many other issues would rate this as a 3-star hotel at best. Additionally, I had to chase the servers at breakfast to pour coffee as we were sitting outside. One lady complained that it was too cold, so they didn’t want to come outside. On my way out, I asked for a taxi to the airport. Again, the guy at the travel desk said it would be $60. I told him this was too expensive, so he reduced the fee to $50. I checked Uber and found a ride for $8, which is considerably cheaper. Please, if you decide to stay here, don’t ask for their taxi service if you don’t want them to rip you off. The only thing I liked was the food and the view from the pool and breaking restaurant
