We arrived to find the hotel all locked up with no staff available, rang the ring doorbell and after a while managed to speak to someone. The connection was very poor and it was heavily raining so this was not easy. We were given a code to access the key safe and our room key. The same key also opened the front door ?? if all bedrooms had the same key? If so not very safe! When we arrived in our room it was clear the bathroom had not been cleaned; the toilet bowl was filled with urine which had not been flushed, there were soap wrappers left lying from previous guests. The tap on the sink was also falling off and not actually anchored to the sink in any way (I noticed this was also reported in a previous review 1 month ago yet staff denied any knowledge!) The bed looked freshly made but on closer inspection there were multiple hairs on the bottom sheet. There was also a lot of wear and tear and general dustiness on skirting boards etc. In the morning we discovered there was no hot water in the room at all! We complained about all of the above and were offered a 50% refund as we also decided not to stay for breakfast as originally planned.
